A Day in my Life
I always enjoy getting a peek into other’s people daily life so I decided to share another one: I thought I had shared more of these posts in the past, but these were the only two that I could pull up: I wonder what I would have named them. Here are a couple old ones: Oct 2019: A day in my Life (the kids were so little!) June 2020: A day in my Life (summer time) I chose a day towards the end of March to share: March was a month full of appointments (eye doctors, dentists and some of my parents appointments) as well as a tennis month for…

Goal Setting: Spring Bucket List
Since my goal list for financial budgeting and family time (date night a month and weekly game night) is very similar to the one I shared in January for the 1st quarter of the year, this spring I am sharing a bucket list! Yesterday, I shared how well I did on my goals. start having morning coffee on the porch eat lunch outside on sunny days plant zinnias and creeping Phlox (2 different spots) run 4 mile Mother’s Day race with my Sunrise Crew and Lunch decide whether to run half marathon plan lunch and family lunch for mom’s 80th birthday go on our vacations (booked for April and June)…

Goal Setting Recap Quarter 1
I am happy to say that I feel pretty good about the first part of 2025! For this recap, I will go down the list that I put together in a blog post at the beginning of January to see what I did accomplish and stick to. Blog/IG I did post 3 times a week on the blog and posted my OOTD in stories most days during the week. However, I did not stick to my plan of sharing budget deals and groceries on IG: I think I only did that the first month and a half. I also did not share free things to do in Atlanta on the…

Blog Anniversary #6
I looked back and I think I let last year’s blog anniversary slip by! I decided to take a moment today and celebrate entering my 7th year of blogging! I started blogging March 2019 as a hobby (it is still a hobby) because I enjoyed reading fashion and lifestyle blogs and as a stay at home mom, I needed a little creative outlet. I wanted to share the joys of getting dressed every day in a budget friendly way, and also wanted to share our family travels. Here are some of my favorite outfits from the past year. I am still a stay at home mom, and after taking care…

February Happenings and Goals Update
It’s time for another little update on my goals and today’s update is a little summary of the month! I would call this a great friendship and family month! My goal was to be more sociable and spend some quality time with everyone, not just my running gals! My friend Katie and I got together for lunch and a little home shopping: I found some floor pillows for our game room and she found a large basket for her blankets. I have known Katie since she was my student teacher, about 20 years ago! Bought a side table for the reading corner of our game room, 2 floor pillows not…

Insights from 2024
As I was writing a little fashion insight post for Instagram, I decided I could share my thoughts here on the blog as well as some insights about traveling and family that I would like to continue or do better in 2025. A lot of these are similar to some of the goals I shared last week in this post. Fashion/Shopping Insights I do not like visual clutter in my closet (and anywhere else really) and still like to reassess periodically whether I wear things in my closet. With many choices at the tip of my fingers, I do not keep pieces I “have to make myself” wear. I have…

Goal Setting: 1st Quarter 2025
I thought that sharing my goals for each quarter and sharing my progress would help me stay accountable. I often give myself some personal goals, but they often fall by the wayside after a month or so. This year, I would like to focus on progress: there are areas that I have already progressed in last year, and I would like to continue to improve in those areas this year. And I guess several of us blogger friends had the same idea so a few of us are sharing our goals/bucket list for winter today such as Joanne, Leslie, Christie and Marsha! I will be dividing my goals in 4…

Minimal Fall Decor
I have become a lot more minimalist with my decor in the past few years. I have become ruthless with what I put out and keep and like, and apart from the Christmas season, there are usually just a few touches to mark the season in my house. I typically decorate the living area and add a few touches to the dining room (which really don’t use much anymore) and our coffee island. The coffee island is where I decided to add my fall metal sign this year as well as a couple felt pumpkins I bought a couple years ago. I forgot to turn on the lights on the…

Making Your Birthday Special
Some people don’t care to celebrate their birthday and don’t mind if it passes by without acknowledgment (at least I have heard people say that). I, for one enjoy making the day special, not in a grandiose way, but in a way that makes me feel like it is a special day. A year has passed, I am alive and well and I am looking forward to more years to come. So what are some simple ways I celebrate my birthday? Before anything else, I would say, don’t wait on others to make your day special because some years you will be disappointed! So here are some things I do!…

Summer Favorites
As summer draws to an end, I wanted to share a few summer favorites, some being experiences while others being little tools that I really enjoyed. I like summer to a certain extent, but it is definitely not my favorite season with the heat, humidity, bugs and the children complaining about boredom. But of course there are some fun things associated with summer too! River and Pool Time If it’s hot, the place place to be is the water! We have a river just a few minutes from the house and we sometimes take advantage of it and take a float down to the next boat/river access. I don’t go…
