Color Trend 2025: Pops of Pistachio

Knowing that my oldest was going to spend spring break at home and that he would be low on spending money, I decided to take as many blog post pictures as possible during that week. I found inspiration by searching spring trend for 2025 and came up with real outfits from my closet and earmarked the ones that appealed to me. My first memory of pistachio is eating and disliking pistachio ice cream in France. I remember visiting some friends who had a boy about my age and me eating a pistachio ice cream that I didn’t like so I could continue talking to him. I was probably 10 or…

Graphic Tees with the Ageless Style Link Up

I love my graphic tees so when Leslie suggested graphic tees for our theme this month, I knew I could come up with a fun outfit to share on the blog. In the past year or two, I went through my collection and donated quiet a few that were not my style anymore and added a few new ones. Some of my favorites are my 2 French saying ones I thrifted this past fall and this newer Target one. I find black or white graphic tees to be more versatile, but I have a few more colorful ones, like a burgundy one and a burnt orange one. I wore this…

Closet Refresh for Spring: Why I switch out my clothes twice a year

There is no right or wrong way to organize your closet, but there are ways to make it work for you. I have friends who keep all of their clothes out year round (you do have to have a large enough closet for that) so that they can wear items year round (think sweater over a summer dress in the cold months). Some people like to organize by color and/or type of clothes or like to create a capsule wardrobe, while others like to have a large variety of clothes to choose from. Some like to purge clothes every other season or year while others will try to make items…

    Coastal Cool or French Simplicity

Today, I am sharing 2 outfits that I think can either fit in a coastal or French aesthetic category. The materials (linen and cotton), the colors (white, tan and navy) and patterns (florals and stripes) lend themselves to either frame of mind. I wore one outfit one week then the other the following week, but photographed both the same day. I wasn’t super pleased with the pictures (I can be overly critical sometimes with my posture, hair, facial expression), but decided they would work! This is not a professional blog, but more like a letter of fashion inspiration for my friends!! White and Blue with Tan These Old Navy linen…

Spring Additions: 2 Thrifted Trench Coats

Last month, my friend Rachel and I got together for some thrifting fun and lunch. While I had a list in mind and I was able to check off a couple of things on that list, I came across some fun finds I couldn’t pass up. The first thing I bought was a red trench coat, NWT from Express. Since I already had found this trench coat, did I really need the second one that was missing a belt? I did not, however the color was too good for me to leave it and I knew both would get worn in the spring and fall. Red Trench Coat Thrifting with…

    A Day in my Life

I always enjoy getting a peek into other’s people daily life so I decided to share another one: I thought I had shared more of these posts in the past, but these were the only two that I could pull up: I wonder what I would have named them. Here are a couple old ones: Oct 2019: A day in my Life (the kids were so little!) June 2020: A day in my Life (summer time) I chose a day towards the end of March to share: March was a month full of appointments (eye doctors, dentists and some of my parents appointments) as well as a tennis month for…

    Bright Orange for Spring

This bright orange Amazon dress from 5 or so years back doesn’t get worn very often for some reason. I love the color of it and it works well for church or a date night, but I typically wear it once or twice a year. I last shared it for fall in 2023 (here is the post) and just as I did today, I wore it with sneakers (just a different pair). This is inspiring me to pull it out more often. I let the dress shine by choosing some more subdued accessories: small “silver” earrings and some bracelets. The fun tote is one that I thrifted in the fall…

    Coral Pants Multiple Ways

I thrifted these colorful pants early in March and love the fun spring color as well as how soft they are. I was excited to see that these Jcrew pants were straight cut and not skinny and that I only paid $2.50 for them. I wore them about once a week the weeks after I bought them and I am sure they will continue to appear in my daily outfits. Here are some ways I have worn them. With a Distressed Topper When I thrifted these, I already had plans to pair them with this top as the color is reflected in the flowers. Spring around here is very difficult…

Insight about Running from Lari: Thoughts from a Nurse Practitioner

Lari shared a little about her running journey a couple months back on the blog (here) and she was recently asked to share some of her thoughts about running and health at our Tuesday running club night. I thought what she shared was very interesting (I have been told to watch my A1C as I am in that pre-diabetes range with a 5.7 score) and we had talked about it one evening as we ran. I thought these insights would be appreciate by all of my readers expecially the ones who run and have some interest in how our bodies work. Here is what she shared, thanks, again, Lari! RUNNING,…

Outfit Inspiration with Yellow Jacket: Colorful Jacket Part 5

Welcome to part 5 of my series on how to wear a colorful jacket! I shared ways I have styled a blue jacket and a purple blazer, a polka dot blazer and a white denim jacket on the blog this month. The possibilities are quite endless once you realize that a colorful jacket does not have to match your outfit: it can be a contrast color and add a lot of fun to a simple outfit. I have had this denim jacket for 4 years if not 5. Would you have imagined this yellow jacket with all of these colors? How I wore it recently I decided to go with…
