October Looks: Part 2
So this past week, I went to Old Navy to pick up a vest I had ordered online (it saved me shipping, and an extra $5 with the discount code) since it was on the way back for the pediatrician. Having just written the first part of this post and realizing that I have so many cute clothes and so many more new outifts to combine then into, I did not even browse in the store and walked out with just my vest! Granted I was with the 2 year old and shopping with him would not have been the most fun experience but I was pleased that I was not tempted!
Here are the rest of my outfits for the month of October. You will notice more sweaters (old and new) and rainboots in rotation: the weather finally changed and we received a lot of much needed rain!
The following blouse received many compliments (I also used it in my fall capsule wardrobe) and I need to reach for it more often since it will go with my olive jeans, the burgundy, the black and the blue ones! As per usual, I reach for my Nickel and Suede earrings the most. They are so light you cannot feel them!
I love the uniqueness of the cardigan wrap my friend made me! The material is nice for days that are breezy but not cold.
I was inspired by a blogger to pair my rust orange shirt with my camo pants. I am all for new to me color combinations! I reach for my wedge sneakers a lot and really want to get a black pair!
I wore my burgundy jeans 2 days in a row. The grey booties were a purchase from JCPenney last winter and were a great choice: I have worn them 2 to 3 times a week this fall!
How many wears can you wear burgundy pants? Too many to count! I actually wore this exact outfit minus the booties 3 years ago for a birthday party! Clothes that stand the test of time and trends and they were really reasonably priced being from Target and Old Navy.
Knowing that I will be taking blog pictures forces me or allows me to find create cute outfits even on vacation. The following outfits were worn during a weekend trip and outings at the lake.
You can still be comfortable but look put together! My Nikes need to be replaced but until I do, I will keep on wearing them!
I typically still wear my statement earrings on vacation and traveling since they are such an easy way to elevate a look.
There was a week of cozy looks with cozy sweaters. Still can’t believe the $1 price tag on this sweatshirt while thrifting. Love those sleeves!
Another cozy look and I had to share my bag which I bought on clearance at a boutique in town. I love it for fall.
Remember that leggings are not pants and wear longer tunics with them! Nobody wants to see more than they should!
I added some sweaters to my collection and I got this one for $13 at Walmart! Wearing it in medium for extra length. My children size Hunter boots have been a great $50 purchase. They are now going on 3 years!
It is still essential to wear layers here: the mornings can be cold and the afternoons warm. This outfit was perfect for an outdoor morning parade and school function then a walk at the park.
Newbie blogger meeting seasoned blogger! It was so fun to meet Tania from 50 is not Old last weekend. And we even color coordinated: great minds think alike!
A bientôt!

All such great looks! Can’t believe you found that gray sweatshirt for just $1! What a steal and it looks so fashionable too with those sleeves! How fun that you got to meet another blogger, I’ve been following her blog as well. The photo of all of you looks fantastic and how cute is your little boy clinging to your leg!

Thank you! As I am preparing for a vacay for Thanksgiving this is good incentive not to buy: lots to wear in my closet!

Thank you, Joanne!

I love when I can go into a store and not be tempted to buy anything! I always feel so proud of myself, haha. So many great outfits, but I especially love the black jacket in the post with the Nikes–it looks so cute and cozy!

Yes, that is me too, Jess! Hopefully I will only be thrifting in November. We have a week at the beach coming up so I need to save up some fun money!

How wonderful that you got to meet up with Tania. And what good restraint not to shop more when you went in to pick up the vest. I wish I was that good. Maybe that’s why I have it shipped to my house…LOL!!

I still want that vest in mustard though! Might pick it up after church next Sunday!

So many great looks, but my favorite is the hand made cardigan wrap. What a unique piece!! Those are the pieces I love to collect and wear. No one else will have it, and it’s so cute too!

So fun that you met another blogger!!!! I love that first floral top so much, I bet you get a lot of wear out of that piece and also those burgundy pants look great on you. As the season begins to change I love seeing people cozy knits and you have so many to choose from. Enjoy your week.

I came over from #SpreadTheKindness and your comment (about cutting sugars) on LaMoumous blog. At the risk of being spammy, I wanted to give you a link to my post on that very topic: https://www.delightfulrepast.com/2016/09/sugar-toxin-or-treat.html
Love the way you put together these casual looks. The orangey-red top is perfect with the camo pants (or any olive-y greens). And I appreciate your earring tips. Love the look of big earrings that have the added bonus of being lightweight.

I will look up your post! Thanks! With me it has to do with my selfcontrol!

Haha I’m proud of you for avoiding the temptation of Old Navy! So many cute outfits here, I think my favorite is the one with the maroon pants and striped top. Have a great Tuesday!

You had a very stylish month! Doing my 30 wears challenge after my 6 months without shopping really helped me reduce my shopping too – I also have the little toddlers with me making shopping more difficult, I know that feeling, haha!
Hope that your week is going well 🙂 It’s a very hot one here! More like summer than spring!
mimifce
Thanks, Mica! I have enjoyed putting different outfits together with no exact repeats.

Burgundy pants are great! They really do go with so many things! That $1 sweatshirt was a great find!
mimifce
I have been wearing them more this fall!

What a fun blogger meet up! I love those! Isn’t it nice when clothing stands the test of time. I had a pair of white cropped jeans that I wore for 10 yrs or so (till I lost weight :)). It’s great that you weren’t tempted in Kohl’s–Ha! The wrap your friend made is so pretty.
mimifce
Yes, I have some pieces in my closet that make it from year to year which is really nice.
Gail
You are an expert in shopping your closet Mireille, particularly being able to walk out of a store without looking around! Excellent to achieve so many great looks. Thanks for joining #WowOnWednesday.
mimifce
It is kind of a fun challenge not to repeat the exact same outfit!
Chrissy
Blogger meet ups are so fun! I’m glad you had that opportunity! And I relate to what you shared on my blog yesterday about feeling fully confident one on one, verses a tendency to feel insecure in a bigger group. I had not considered this for myself but it may be just my thing! Oh and these looks are fabulous. I love how you gain inspiration from other bloggers and credit them for it. That’s what we’re here for, right?
mimifce
Thanks Chrissy! It is fun to create looks inspired by others.
Elise
These are such great looks!! I am really loving the burgundy pants and striped top look as well as the crisscross green top! Beautiful looks!

Thank you Elise! Some of these looks are inspiring me for what I want to take to the beach on Thanksgiving. I guess it will all depend on the weather!
Nicole of High Latitude Style
Nice outfit ideas. My favorite of these is the first look. It can’t really put my finger on what makes it so interesting. Isn’t that the sign of the Je’n sais quois?
mimifce
Thank you! Now I am going to look back at the post to see which one is the first =)

Lovely to see your outfits Hun, and so nice to see you meet with another blogger – it’s such a fun thing to do. Jacqui x

Mireille, that ivory wrap cardigan is absolutely gorgeous and so unique! What a lovely gift from your friend. And I am also loving your Shine Bright graphic tee. And the last burgundy floral tunic/dress I adore…I have the same one! It is perfect for this time of year! Thanks for linking up, my friend.

Thanks Shelbee: I thought of you when I wore it, lol! I do love the wrap cardigan. Actually wore it today to church. I love feeling like I have enough in my closet (doesn’t mean I won’t shop but I won’t as much!).
