Fall at the beach: packing

This Saturday, we will leave for a week at the beach (I will be taking that whole week off from blogging but will be posting some on Instagram). When getting ready for a vacation where we are renting our lodging, my first 2 tasks are planning some meals and planning my wardrobe. The meals I am planning are instant pot crack chicken (I will prep it before we go so we will just have to warm it up), a vegetable lasagna and we will cook a boston butt when we are there. I love hassle free meals and like to bring most of our grocery so hopefully it will all fit in the van.

How do I plan my outfits?

This is our second time spending Thanksgiving at the beach. Last year, the temperature during the day ranged from around 55 to 70 with cooler evenings and mornings. I do remember Thanksgiving morning being windy and chilly. I will of course check the weather forecast before putting everything in our bags but I plan to bring layers, comfortable shoes and sweaters. Last year we mostly stayed at the house on the beach and went to brunch for Thanksgiving. This year we might go on a few outings but they will only warrant casual clothing too.

What am I bringing?

I think it is funny that I will pack with the least amount of clothes if we are flying abroad to ensure light luggage and the least number of suitcases. When I pack for a long weekend or a week somewhere I tend to pack a lot more!

The first thing I will pack is my Thanksgiving outfit.

So I will have an abnormal number of shoes for the minimalist packer that I usually am:

  • black heeled booties
  • blush sneakers
  • white/leopard
  • grey sneakers

  • jeans (that I will wear while traveling (7 hour drive)
  • black zella leggings
  • olive joggers

  • striped tunic
  • striped sweater
  • striped sweatshirt
  • grey sweatshirt
  • my new Walmart black sweater with white stripes on sleeve
  • be kind sweatshirt
  • Mama bear sweatshirt

  • blush vest
  • 2 scarves
  • 1 beanie
  • utlity jacket
  • 3 or 4 pairs of Nickel and Suede earrings

This is one of the comfy look I think will be perfect for sitting on the beach and watching the waves! We saw pelicans fishing, dolphins putting on a show, a stingray swimming in a circle and some herons from our space on the beach so you can imagine, I can’t wait and am counting down the days and hours!
