Favorite April and May Looks

What constitutes a favorite look? Something new and unexpected shopped mostly from my closet, something I felt good in and looked good in pictures too (one doesn’t always translates into the other, lol). Color for some days and neutrals for others, variety I think for me is the key. I like to come up with new outfits either by looking at my closet or by finding inspiration from another blogger. Today, I am taking a look back at my favorite outfits from the last two months.

I featured these white beach pants in the last couple of posts and this shows you again how versatile they are. I really prefer to wear a fitted top like this one with them to offset the wide legs. Since the colors in the tee were darker (I find it more fallish), I added my safron colored earrings to the outfit.

What I like about my outfits in the past couple of months is that they are so varied. Skirts, dresses, pants, shorts, colors, neutrals, white… Lots of variety makes getting dressed fun! These pants were a Goodwill find a year ago and I typically wear them with black.

I have been loving graphic tees especially paired with skirts: they are a fun way to modernize a skirt. This elastic band skirt is very comfortable even running around 4 kids. Love me a colorful pair of sandals: these are at least 3 years old and were found on clearance at Target.

I did buy a pair of white denim shorts at the beginning of May: it is too hot for jeans in Georgia and I have worn my white bottoms so much that I knew I would get lots of wear out of these. For a change I found a neutral tee to pair with it.

Variety! I love this dress but I do not love it as a standalone: I wish more dresses had short sleeves versus a tank strap. I also like to wear it with my heart graphic tee on top. Going to see what other combinations I can create with it because I really like the blue and yellow colors!

Oh, my leopard earrings! I cannot believe that I found my lost earring after 11 months! Going to try to create more kimono outfits this summer. Perfect over a graphic tee or a tank.

Dressed up with nowhere to go but sitting in my car: I wore this to the orthodontist, the middle school and CVS and stayed in my car in all 3 places! This was another of my top thrift store finds: a White House Black Market gem!

I remember this look being inspired by Shelly from TheQueeninBetween. Shopped by closet to find similar pieces.

Last is another look with a thrifted piece, this White House Black Market tunic that I found at least 3 years ago. I haven’t worn it much in the past couple of years so I decided to take it out for a spin which meant picking rocks in our yard (don’t ask, experiment gone a little wrong, lol!). Who says you can’t look cute doing yard work: it was not sweaty work, just hot work so I added a hat for sun protection.

There you have them: some of my favorite Spring looks! It feels good to have gotten rid of things over the past year to curate a wardrobe that I really enjoy. As a stay at home mom and really staying at home the past couple of months, wearing fun outfits has been a creative and enjoyable outlet!
