November Sunday Showcase and Link up: Target Snakeskin
It was so funny when I posted in my stories about picking up my Target order of 2 pairs of booties and Ada commented that she had bought the same two pairs! While she returned one for poor fit, we then realized we both also had the snakeskin sneakers. Therefore was born the theme for this month. Don’t forget to stop by Ada’s blog for her post, it should be up later today. Target has been a great place for moderately priced trendy shoes and boots lately and I couldn’t help but take advantage of the B1G1 half off + 20% sale last month. I got two pairs of booties for less than 40 dollars! I found lately that shoes can really make or break an outfit and create a lot of variety. So yes, I might have one too many pairs of shoes but some of them are really old (and some are new!). Btw, my blogging schedule this week is a little different with a post today, Tuesday and Friday!
Snakeskin Booties
I had a laugh when my son took these pictures and called my booties rattlesnake shoes! I guess that is a good description! They are more of a brown snakeskin and while I could have paired this peplum top with a pair of black skinny jeans I thought I would go a little out of my comfort zone and styled it with a pencil skirt.
I actually had to take my shoes off to climb up there: I did not want to scratch them. I like the lower heel and cutouts on the side.
The sleeves on this blouse are really pretty and I like the 3/4 sleeve length so they do not get in the way of things. I wore this outfit to church that evening.
I have been trying to do a better job of rotating my earrings and necklaces: these fun ball earrings were a find at Cracker Barrel and the start glass pendant was found at a flea market.
Here is Ada’s look with a fun striped dress and topper (wasn’t cool enough for me when I shot these pictures). It is neat for me to partner up with Ada for these monthly post because we live at opposite side of the US (North and South) so our weather does differ quite a lot.
After trying peplum tops, I will still say they are not my favorite but I do like the variety they offer from the shapes that I usually wear. I will end with a close up of my booties.
I like how Ada and I always tend to think alike as we both styled the booties with skirt/dresses for this post. I really love her cute backpack purse with its fun tassel and texture.
Snakeskin Sneakers
Once again, Ada and I pair similar colors! I really like the print mixing with the camo joggers and snakeskin sneakers: I think I will be trying this combo soon!
In theory, I love this dress but I don’t find it the most flattering on me. It is a great length, I love olive for fall but I have only worn it a handful of times since I bought it. I do like it with these sneakers and jacket and can think of other ways that I will like so it will stay in my closet for now.
And yes to wearing a white denim jacket in the fall: don’t limit it to spring time: I like how it lightens up a darker dress and I plan to pair it with my great fall dress soon.
I wanted to thank my 9 year old who stepped in for these pictures: he did a very nice job and can help relieve my teen: when I need several outfits pictures taken for one post, it really helps to divide the workload between my two oldest.
I wanted to show a close up of the print: it is really pretty and I love that it can be used as a neutral.
I’ve been talking about getting a belt bag one of these days: I really like this style Ada is wearing which is much more sophisticated and easier to style than the old fashion ones. The color, the details make it a pretty addition to an outfit.
Blogger Feature
My favorite post from last month’s link up is Emma from Style-Splash with her navy and white polka dot dress! Emma often shares bold outfits with bright colors or special details which I enjoy but I particularly like this pretty classic dress. I only have one polka dot piece in my closet and maybe I need to be on the look out for more!

You both look fantastic and how fun that you ended up purchasing the same shoes!!
I love the olive dress on you!
I need to try a peplum shirt, from what I read it would be a good style for my body shape but not tried one on yet.

Ha! So cool that you and Ada got the same shoes! You know, now that I’m looking at your post on my iPad (as opposed to Instagram on my phone). I am amazed how alike this beautiful red top is to my bright pink one. Fabulous!

they are cute boots and I like how you used them to add print to your outfit – that red top is so nice with the pencil skirt! The second outfit with all the neutrals looks great too but the first one is my favourite for sure 🙂
Hope that you had a nice weekend 🙂

Hahahaa yes to rattlesnake booties, sneakers and shoes! Love that name your son gave that kind of animal skin. I tend to call it “python” a lot and even have python as one of the label names for my blog. =)
I am so glad we collaborated with our identical Target shoes this month because it was a great idea. Ain’t I full of great ideas?! I have never been accused of not being creative lol?! I also noticed how we thought alike in the sense of dresses/skirts for the booties and olive green for the sneakers. Your outfits are both so cute and very you. Love your jewelry you purchased at the most unique stores!
I too love snakeskin paired with camo and that belt bag is super cute, I agree. =)
Looking forward to our next boots collaboration next week. =) Stay tuned for my post tomorrow as I am sharing more snakeskin footwear.
P.S. This is my second comment. I commented here last night for the first time from my phone, but it didn’t go through. Told you my phone has been very wonky. CANNOT wait till I get a new phone, an iPhone!! I will make sure to comment from my Chromebook from now on.
mimifce
You are too funny! Yep, the other comment did not go through. Yes, a new phone will be great for you!
Jill
Target has the best shoes the past few seasons – I can see why you both bought the same two pairs! So funny that your son called those booties your rattlesnake shoes! Both of these outfits are so cute on you!

Thanks, Jill! Haven’t fun with new combos!

Both of these looks are so cute, Mireille! I’ve been eyeing those snakeskin booties for quite a while now… The rattlesnake comment is really funny. I like the cutouts on the side too, but it does make it harder to wear socks with the booties.
Miles of smiles,
