The 7 Day Skirt Challenge with Is this Mutton and Link Up

When Gail of Is this Mutton proposed a 7 day skirt instagram challenge and/or blog post, I knew I wanted to hop on in some form or manner as I have really loved wearing skirts this year. I finally have found the types of skirts I like the best at this time in my life which means that my taste has changed over the years. Growing up, my parents did not allow me to wear pants (I grew up in a strict Baptist household) and even after leaving the protestant church I did not wear pants much. When I moved out on my own, I definitely wore what I wanted to wear and really liked to mix it up between wearing pants and skirts. In the past few years, I have moved away from my striped maxi skirts and developed a love for prints and variety in style and colors in my skirts. Today, I am sharing 7 of my favorite skirt outfits that I would wear in fall and winter.

Floral Yellow Skirt

You knew I was going to share this one for the upteenth time: while I have worn it with different tops and shoes, this particular look is still my favorite. See how I wore it for fall and summer here and here. I also wore it for Pascha (Easter) here.

Tie Dye Maxi

I am not much into bright tie dye but I absolutely love this skirt my neighbor gave me and I wore last month. Need to wear it again soon: I have the perfect sweater to wear with it on a cooler day. When the weather permits, a denim jacket is the perfect addtion to any skirt.

Thrifted Pencil Skirt

One of the styles of skirts that I have really enjoyed this past year are midi pencil skirts especially if they are pull on skirts. This is is very comfortable and has a pretty small plaid print.

My friend thrifted it but when it became too large for her, she gave it to me. Here is another way I wore it in the winter.

And my latest pairing which is another floral print mix this past week for the challenge!

Snakeskin Midi Skirt

Getting this skirt was a little adventure: I went to TJMaxx with my youngest and saw two items that I liked. I saw this cute skirt in the junior’s department and they had it in different sizes. However, I left without either items. Later that day, I decided I wanted that skirt! I went back by myself and could not find the skirt. I went through all of the aisles looking for it and finally found it in a completely different spot and only in size small. Thankfully, the back is elastic and it fit!

Black Harem Skirt

Another interesting skirt that I have enjoyed wearing is this harem skirt that my friend also gave me. Here are two ways I have worn it recently.

The hem is so much fun and different! I wanted to wear it with something more colorful and here is what I came up with.

Pink Leopard Flirty Mini

I found this little skirt on Amazon and love how fun it is. I actually shot a cute little fall look with it for Thanksgiving with boots, sweater and hat but can’t share it yet! So here are two recent looks. As you can tell, it is still warm around here most days.

I like it both with the slip on sneakers and booties. I am learning how to create a fall look without getting too warm, lol!

Leopard Maxi Skirt

I cannot believe I almost forgot this skirt! An Amazon find and a good one!

Here is another way I wore this skirt for the fall weather. I had to show off my little combat boots which really work with everything!

And here is a bonus skirt outfit! My 6 year old said I looked like a cowboy!
