Tennessee Aquarium: Part 2
Last week, I shared some pictures from our winter break visit to the Tennessee aquarium in Chattanooga. It felt good to get out of the house and do something fun. We enjoy our visit as well as a nice lunch at a nearby restaurant.
We found a cool spot for pictures outside: this painting was really pretty.
Now isn’t this leopard ray amazing! I shared a lot of these pictures on my Instagram and thought this was a propos for all of us lovers of prints and leopard. Did you know that this creature existed?
The sea turtle was very agreeable and hung out near the window where we sat. It was fun to see him up close.
I always remember hubby’s and I snorkeling trip down a cenote in Mexico during our honeymoon when I see spider crabs: we saw these crawling on the bottom of the spring.
Jellyfish are another creature that I would rather encounter being glass. The boys and I worked really hard trying to find angles to take pictures without reflections from the other exhibits in that room.
Another strange creature are the anenomes! Do you know how many years it took me to pronounce that word correctly?
We are looking forward to another visit in the next month or so. I am hoping that the butterfly exhibit will be open in March. Since that would be near spring, I would think butterflies would be there. I am not sure whether it was closed because of Covid or the time of the year.
I hope you enjoyed this little tour of the aquarium. I feel like this was the highlight of our school break. I am ready to plan some little adventures for the boys as the weather gets warmer.
A bientĂ´t!

There is something really very special about aquariums, isn’t there? I’ve been to some really lovely ones in the past decade or so — my favourite was in Vancouver, where there were Belluga wales and Sloths. It was absolutely incredible. Gosh how I miss travelling and seeing such wonderful things.

Such great pictures! Loving each one of these sea creatures! I still don’t say anemone the correct English way unless I try really hard, otherwise I’m saying it similar to the way it sounds in German 🙂

You can see photos at home like this, but you don’t realize how seeing the animals in person is so much better.

Aquariums are always so fun!! Love that mural and so true, getting pics without the reflections is super difficult.
