Inspired by Grace from Graceful Rags

I am getting so much inspiration from others lately as well as by my new clothes and our outings that I feel like I am running out of time to write my blog posts. I am scheduled out till the end of May I think! Anyhow, this is actually the first time I wore this dress in real life (I bought it this past February I think) and styled it for a post then. Today I am sharing it how I wore it on Saturday for a casual cool day and for church. This look was inspired by Grace from Graceful Rags. She shared an orange dress earlier in February I think and it gave me some style inspiration. I love Grace! She is a college student with an awesome sense of style and takes the cutest pictures. I am also jealous of her pretty hair and realize how unstylish I was in college, lol!

I bought this dress at Target and I guess it did so well last year that they brought it back this year. I usually size down for Knox Rose dresses but I actually had to order a medium for this one as it didn’t fit in the chest area otherwise. It is really comfortable to wear and a great length and is fully lined.

My 10 year old and I headed to the nearby Indian Mounds where I finally bought a historic site family yearly pass. These mounds are less than 5 minutes from the house and while the family pass is only for 4 people it will definitely save us some money. We probably won’t come here all 6 of us most of the time. I love this place in the spring as wild flowers grow, everything is green and there are many spots for pretty pictures.

There are 3 mounds you can climb and this is the tallest. The stairs are really close together so it is easier to climb them 2 by 2. To imitate Grace, I chose this fun little clutch I picked up in the clearance section at Cracker Barrel last year. I sure need to bring it to the beach this summer (I am hoping for a 2 night stay around Tybee Island).

I have this pair of Madewell pair of sandals in brown and black and wear them anytime I want a flat sandal in a neutral. They do not have much support but are comfortable to walk in. The navy blue 3/4 sleeve jacket is old but has really made an appearance in my outfits a lot this spring. It goes with everything and the sleeve length is perfect for a little coverage without being too hot.

It is very strange for me to think I do not have any belts 2 years ago because I sure have been wearing them this past year. This one came with a dress a long time ago and is loose but perfect to add an extra finishing touch to a dress. The river behind me is the river we raft down a few times a year. It hasn’t been warm enough yet to do that yet but looking forward to it.

We haven’t biked yet either this year. It just has felt busy lately but Saturday was a really good day. I actually went back in the afternoon with my husband and my oldest and we walked on different paths making a big circle around the property. I had to take a few more pictures because it was so pretty.

Here is the view at the top of the stairs and then below the view from the stairs. It was nice in the morning because no one was there: it was peaceful and perfect for pictures. You can see the river in the background. I also love cloudy days like these for pictures.

By the river there is a little trail in the woods where we walked in the afternoon. These pretty little purple flower and this pink tree were so pretty!

I wore my Addidas sneakers then which were more comfortable for a longer walk and they worked well with the dress.

There is something to be said about wearing something you feel good in: I think it added to my feelings of it being a good Saturday: coffee on the porch, blog pictures, a walk/run with my friend, a walk with hubby and teen and church were on my agenda and I felt cute all day. I think red and yellow are my it colors this year!

A bientĂ´t!
