Rock Bridge and Angel Wings Trails, Daniel Boone Forest, KY
Welcome back to my synopis of our spring break to Kentucky. On our second day, we planned two hikes. We were pleased with the 3 short ones we had done the first day so we choose a slighty longer one and decided to add another one before heading back to our rental. I chose the hikes by searching them on the internet, looking a distance and features such as arches. Once again, I packed lunch but we left it in the car to eat at a picnic table since we knew the hikes were not especially long.
Rock Bridge Arch
I chose this trail because it was a longer ones than the ones we had hiked but still very manageable at 1.3 miles. There was an arch mid point, a waterfall as well as a creek to look at even a few rock formations to climb under.
This cave was pretty neat as there were some spots you could climb too. There were a few other people on the trails but we only passed them by and were able to enjoy each spot at our leisure.
Having my husband with us on these hikes meant we could be a little more adventurous as there were two of us to help kids reach points. We didn’t do anything dangerous of course but it is nice to have to sets of hands to help children climb a higher step and guide them as they go down.
I like hiking in the spring because it usually means there is not a drought and waterfalls, creeks and rivers are full. There is nothing like going somewhere to admire a beautiful waterfall and only see a trickle of water.
The arch was very pretty and made me think of a fairy tale as it was luscious with plants and very green. It kind of blended in the background.
Angel Wings Trail
This was a short trail that followed a rock formation on our left and a small trail, went through the angel wings before ended at this large rock formation that hubby and son tried to follow for a while.
It was a very short trail and because the path was not wide, I carried my youngest on my back. We enjoyed looking at the rocks closely as water promotes moss formation as well as holes.
These arches are the angels wings. I wonder how each of these trails are named. To me most of them look like elephant trunks.
There was a hole in one of these where you could drop your water bottle and it came out through a different hole. The boys called it a vending machine,
This was another successful day of hiking. Both days, we left our rental around 9:30 and came back around 3 which allowed everyone to rest.
A bientôt!

Hum, I would think about that. We did have vending machine with chocolate croissant in high school but I don’t remember how new they were then.
