Outfit Inspiration: Recap Scarves, Skirts and Dresses with Jeans
This month, I decided to share most of my daily outfits in two posts to show you how I am shopping my closet. If you remember my post Lean Budget Month a couple of weeks ago, I shared some theme ideas to help me plan my outfits and have fun in my closet. I switched out my winter clothes for my spring/summer clothes the day before I published that post which infused a nice dose of color into my closet. I had forgotten about a few pieces and I reorganized a few things to where everything made sense. I am lucky to have a spacious closet so nothing is crammed in together.
Bonus Outfits: Dresses over Jeans
These oufits were actually worn at the end of February when I decided to actually try wear some dresses over jeans: I choose 3 different cuts of jeans to make these more interesting than just pairing them with skinny jeans.
I like all three outifts and definitely will try this again.
Start with a Scarf
I picked which scarf I wanted to wear then styled outfits around them: sometimes started with the shoes or another accessories helps you create new outfits. I tried to pick a variety of bottoms and of course some dresses for church days.
Skirts
I realized I had been concentrating on wearing dresses this winter and really didn’t wear my skirts much. So what a perfect time to wear all of my skirts as spring weather is arriving and to remind me the versatility of my closet! About half of my skirts are thrifted as I always seem to find some interesting one as I thrift.
I do not shop from SheIn any more, but the one time that I did 2 to 3 years ago, I ordered these 3 skirts. They have all been worn many times and I continue to love them. As I wore my skirts, I tried to alternate my shoes wearing closed in shoes since I am wearing my sandals yet. Converse sneakers, a pair of espadrilles and my white sneakers were paired with these skirts. The black skirt has probably been worn the most as the length and stretch make it very versatile. You will see more of that red and white Caite and Kyla blouse in a couple of weeks.
I may add today’s outfit later but I did not have an opportunity to photograph it yet as my post comes out at 6 AM. I really enjoyed these 2 outfits too: I wore the blue and yellow one when we went on a picnic and the other I wore to church. It was chilly again so boot were the best shoe choice. You can tell by my pictures how the weather has been this week! These 2 skirts were thrifted and I have found the striped one to be very versatile as far as pairing tops with it. The maxi tends to be paired with navy or white.
I hope you enjoyed this outfit recap and that it will inspire you to shop your closet. I am really enjoying my weekly outfit themes and am now thinking of continuing this shopping fast a couple extra weeks into April. Next week, I will be wearing my colorful pants, followed by a week of joggers and then I am going to add a week of kimonos. I thought of having a week of creating outfits starting with a shoe too.

Love all the color!!!! Can I just say how jelous I am that you are at the point where you have switched your closet. I am thinking by the end of the month I am going to try to do that as well. it’s lovely to see you in color and the grass in your pictures. I was just thinking about your tip of styling pieces around your scarf and I am going to do that for some of the shoes I just haven’t been wearing at all. Thanks for the idea!

I absolutely LOVE the floral skirt with denim jacket and Converse. I never seem to be able to get the skirt + sneakers look quite right, but this one is inspiring me to try again!

So many cute spring looks! It’s too cold here to switch to spring clothes yet. I always envy you gals who get spring so early. We don’t see spring temps till May.

Oh, our weather is definitely nice in spring usually as long as it doesn’t feel like summer too early.
