Wearing your Shoes with Multiple Outfits

In my March/April clothing budget, I shared I had bought 5 pairs of shoes during that time period. While one was not a good buy as they are really a little small therefore not really comfortable, I wanted to share different ways I am wearing each pair of shoes and highlight them to show how they are versatile and are worthy of a space in my closet.

Time and Tru Walmart Sneakers

This pair replaced two pairs of white sneakers I had that were showing some wear but mostly I did not find very comfortable anymore. These new sneakers are comfortable, trendy and very versatile. I wear my regular size 7 in them and really like the little rose detail on the back.

Another outfit with a white top, I paired a new to me thrifted pair of fun pants with my white sneakers. I love the navy and white print as well as the cut of these: nice and flowy for the summer!

Blowfish Malibu Sneakers

I picked up this cute pair of distressed slip on sneakers at a local boutique in olive. I was surprised at how comfortable they were and I love that they do not have any laces and the distressed detail is fun. I’ve always liked the Converse style but they are not really comfortable so these are a step up for me: they have some cushion and are very cute!

I decided to capitalize on the olive color and paired them with a tee and bracelet in that color. The earrings are more of a forest green but still work and the thrifted capris work well with them because white just make everything pop!

While there is no olive in the skirt and tee, I have always considered olive as a neutral so I chose this fun thrifted whale Talbot skirt to wear on this day. I have a lot of skirts that I do not wear often and I am trying to not forget them!

Espadrille Sandals from Social Threads

This is the one pair of shoes I picked up at the end of March that I wished I had returned as they are not true to size and you should size up at least 1 full size up if you are between sizes. This pair is 6.5 and I usually fit fine in either size 6.5 or 7. I do like the style and the cognac color but I should have returned them since they are not very comfortable by being too small.

I wore them earlier this month in a post after wearing them all day. They are now in my donation or sell pile whichever comes first.

Black Sandals from Target

I had to replace a 2 year old pair of simple Madewell black sandals because they started hurting my feet. They were very flat with no support and after just wearing them a couple of hours my foot tendon started to give off shooting pains in my foot. I had noticed someone sharing this pair of Target sandals and they have enough support to be comfortable.

All of the outfits in this post are outfits I wore so I started with shoes and built my outfits from there. I hadn’t worn this Amazon skirt in a while so I pulled it out.

One of the things I like about simple sandals is that they are not fussy: they really can’t work with everything: shorts, pants, dresses, skirts and they also work with different lengths. I have certain pairs of shoes that I do not like with midi skirts and certain cropped pants. These are perfect for all.

I hadn’t worn these thrifted pants yet this season so as the weather has been heating up and the bugs are biting it was a perfect day to pull them out. I’ve tried different tops with it but I still like black the best so my black bodysuit it is! We planted some seeds and hopefully we will see some things sprouting soon. I have been using my mother in laws old wheelchair cushions as knee pads: they are perfect (when we returned the wheelchair, they didn’t want them back). You can see it next to the trowel.

As you can tell by the pictures, these sandals will probably get the most wear as well as the white sneakers and grey sandals below.

Grey Blowfish Sandals

I love the edginess of these sandals: the side cute out makes them interesting and even the grey material adds interest. I bought mine on clearance at a local boutique but these are identical but in a different colorway.

They have a fun cutout detail on the sides and straps at the top and are a dark grey tie dye.  I figured the slit on my hand me down skirt helped display the sandals. I hadn’t worn it in at least a year so I went for a simple outfit that was still modern with the shoes and graphic tee.

This is another thrifted outfit that I have worn several times but this time with my new sandals. It makes me feel good to realize that most of these outfits have at least one thrifted piece!

One of my favorite pairs of fun pants (found on Ebay) paired with grey. I felt so comfortable in this all day, perfect for the heat in Georgia.

TJ Maxx sneakers

The last pair of shoes I picked up in April were these fun sneakers. I love the big white soles and the color is a nice neutral without being white. I picked this oversized Free People top while at the consigment store earlier this month.

Love all these spring and summer looks; I find that I rarely wear sneakers of any kind but definitely get lots of use out mix and matching my sandals with all the spring and summer styles.

I really like the graphic T + cute print skirt + sneakers outfit formula you wear several times in this post…so fun! The whale print skirt is just *swoon* totally adorable. The olive distressed sneakers are terrific.

Thank you! That is definitely a go to formula for me when I wanted something easy to wear!

I really think there is the right pair of white sneakers for everyone. Just a matter of trying a few! These are really one of the best I have bought in the last 4 years or so.

What a fun post, Mireille! I love seeing new shoes! I agree with you on Converse shoes. I think they’re cute, but they are not comfortable at all! I suppose I could put arch supports in them. Oh, look at me…I’m influencing myself on your post!! Thanks for sharing all of these shoes!

New shoes are fun! I am learning comfort is very important especially that I am running regularly now.

Shoes are definitely my weakness but they really do go with so much in our closet. And finding the right fit is key. I do like my Blowfish sandals, but I haven’t had luck at Target lately.

Target is a hit and miss sometimes but it had been a while since I bought shoes there. I did buy a cute pair of sandal clogs this month there and love them too.

You are so good about choosing versatile shoes for your closet! These are all really cute outfits on you. I especially like the red dress and the one with the yellow top!

    • mimifce

Thanks I try to! I have a few shoes in my closet that I don’t wear much because they are dressier but they are either old or given to me. I try to get as much bang for my buck as I can!

Great finds! The Walmart sneakers look nice for the price! I love the too small ones. I’m sorry they don’t fit. Your outfits are all 100%!

That’s ok for the brown ones, I ended up buying a fun pair of clog sandals from Target to replace them.

  • Mica Away From The Blue

These are such great outfits and while it’s a hsame you can’t wear the brown sandals it’s nice you bought so many other shoes you can enjoy and wear in multiple different ways! My knee injury is feeling a bit better so I’m trying to branch out and not wear Converse constantly, but with the cold weather arriving here for autumn they are a staple for me in most of my outfits now, haha!

Thank you for joining the #WeekdayWearLinkup! Hope you had a good weekend 🙂 We enjoyed the sunshine after so many rainy weeks!

Hope your knee heals all the way! I am being more careful with the shoes I wear if they are uncomfortable.

Do I spy a fellow Nickel & Suede earring collector here?? Love all these outfits, especially the ones with the trainers. I have bad feet so they always feel good to me!

    • mimifce

Yes! I used to only wear their earrings but now am branching out more. I still reach for them a lot though.
