May Flowers with the Ageless Style Link Up

This was one of those instances when I take pictures for a blog post way ahead of time. I bought this pretty dress in a little boutique while on spring break in Tennessee and when I discovered this pretty patch of flowers off of the road our cabin was on, I told my boys we had to take some blog pictures. Thankfully, we chose the sunniest and warmest day so it was pleasant to take the pictures despite some thorns and our worry about poison oak and poison ivy. If there was any, we were spared!

This is my favorite picture of the bunch! This Umgee dress is a true wrap so while I ordered some fashion tape on Amazon for future wears (I wore it the following Sunday and fashion tape is awesome!), for these pictures I had to make do with a paper clip to create a higher neckline. The dress can be find online and I am wearing the medium. There is not way I would have fit in a small, it would have been too tight in the shoulders and the neckline is definitely more plunging than the picture shows especially if you have a chest.

The dress is described as a midi dress but at 5’4” it is a maxi on me and it really ticked all of the boxes for what I had been looking for in a new floral dress. I love it! It is very flattering and my only true wrap dress.

Wasn’t this a pretty spot for blog pictures? I love being outdoors and spaces like this make me happy!

I find moss phlox really pretty and that lavender color is one of my favorites. We use to have something similar in our flower beds a few houses past. I love it in its natural setting.

I did not have any pretty sandals with me so I had to make do with my new little sneakers (I did get rid of a pair recently) as you wouldn’t want to walk baretoe in the wild. I was a little worried about snakes but we didn’t see any thankfully.

At the end of the post I am sharing how I wore it to church and then on Mother’s day. I am hoping to find some wisteria to take pictures with but I haven’t seen any in bloom where I usually find it. Same color as the moss phlox but in the trees: aren’t some of the plants considered weeds pretty?

I am looking forward to seeing how everyone styled this theme. My first idea was to have some props (a French basket with flowers) to translate the theme but this was so much better. Sometimes spur of the moment ideas are winners!

I wore the dress with booties and a jacket on a Sunday and then again with sandals and pretty jewelry for Mother’s day. It was actually chilly so I pulled out my sunny denim jacket. My mom was getting rid of some shoes and these neutral sandals will be great to pair with outfits.

Don’t forget to see how each lady styled this month’s theme!

Thank you, Rosemary! I really was so happy I found it! I saw it on the mannequin that was in front of the boutique as I drove by and knew I had to try it!

That dress is absolutely GORGEOUS, Mireille! I never buy wrap dresses because I’m always worried they’ll be too plunging at the front, or they won’t wrap around sufficiently lol. Clearly, I need to stop worrying about that. You look gorgeous! Love the setting too.

Wow Mireille you look fabulous in this beautiful dress. Such a wonderful buy. And this location is very nice. You are right. 😊

Thank you, Tina! The boys are getting used to me wanting pictures in different spots. The other day we were in front of a medical center and I told my son we had to take blog pictures because it was really pretty.

What a beautiful wrap dress. Wrap dresses are so flattering on everyone. I love your tips about using fashion tape. I usually just use a safety pin or wear a tank underneath.

I love how you changed up the dress the different times you wore it Mireille. And it’s fabulous with the sneakers too.
I have a couple of dresses that are low cut like that. Fashion tape is essential, but I did add a snap to one also!! Either that or I wear my half tee!!

Mireille, what a fabulous dress! I love this style on you and the floral print is gorgeous. All three ways that you wore it give it such a uniquely different look. And all are so good! I really like it with your cute little sneakers for a woodsy photoshoot. I think you are very brave sitting down without a blanket beneath you in the moss phlox! What if a snake had slithered by???? Eeeeek. That might be too much even for me!

I find many “weeds” to be quite beautiful as well. Who the heck got to decide they were “weeds” instead of “flowers” anyway?

Fun post and great outfit, my friend!

You know, I didn’t even think of the blanket in the back of my trunk! Thankfully no snakes on this shoot but you will hear a snake story in June for one of my other photoshoots!

  • Ellie

What a beautiful dress! The color is simply stunning and the floral print just perfect! I especially love when you styled it with the yellow jacket!
Some so called weeds do have the prettiest flowers and attract bees which are so beneficial. Most don’t even bother me on my lawn but currently working on a crabgrass infestation and that I absolutely cannot stand!!

Thanks, Marsha! Sometimes you just have to take advantage of the photo opportunities and the boys are getting used to my antics by now.

This dress is absolutely stunning on you. I love the wrap style, length and flow. Fashion tape? Tell me more. I’ve never used it but it kind of sounds like a game changer.

I have only used the fashion tape with fabric to fabric: it is a double sided tape made especially for clothes but it is also supposed to work when you put it on the fabric and stick to your skin too: so for things with straps if you are afraid it will slide down, etc. I just ordered it on amazon. It’s great for this dress because I didn’t want to wear a camisole or something at the neckline and the tape kept the neckline in place.

Mirielle , your dress is so pretty and as you show there are so many styling options you wil wear this so often over your Summer. The woods look so pretty too.

    • mimifce

Thank you, Jill! I think it will be really nice in the fall with all of my different jackets too.

  • Mica Away From The Blue

This is such a gorgeous wrap dress on you! I love the photos of it with the flowers, what a nice spot to take pics! It also layers so well with a jacket – that yellow one looks great with it!

Thank you for joining the #WeekdayWearLinkup! Hope you had a good weekend 🙂 We enjoyed the sunshine after so many rainy weeks!
