Styling Silky Cargo Pants 3 ways

Anytime I add something to my closet, I hope for it to be versatile and be able to wear it several ways. It is always a little more difficult with certain items that might be considered more dressy or have a different texture such as silk, sequins or certain prints. So when I chose these silky cargo pants as part of my giveaway win from I’ll have what she is wearing, I knew I wanted to think about different ways to wear them (I couldn’t find the joggers on the website anymore so they are probably sold out but this can give you inspiration with your own joggers). I love the color of these but I will say the waist is not my favorite style with the drawstring as I feel it emphasize my derriere. I always find it more difficult to photograph such pants (I have a pair of pink cotton joggers in a similar style) so my children had to be patient with me. They were only available in Medium at the time and I think a smaller size would have had a better fit.

With a Graphic tee

I imitated the model to style them this way but would like the pants to be more cropped. I am thinking of turning them under and using maybe fashion tape to keep them pant leg tucked. I do love this paired with black.

These were my first pictures with the pants so you will hopefully see the progression of what I would like the pants to look like. I probably could have sized down to a small but they were unavailable so I decided to take a chance with sizing.

Date Night Look

I picked this lace sleeveless top at a local consigment store in May while I was looking for a white denim skirt. I did not find a skirt there but two tops and will definitely will check back to see what I can find. I tried a number of fun things including the cutest pair of Free People overalls that were too small for me.

I would really like to try something different with the hem of the joggers to create a cropped look but so far I haven’t found something that works. I love these fun studded sandals for a little bling! I added a pair of dangling purple and gold earrings and a bangle. I was looking for my statement cuff gold bracelet but couldn’t find it.

With a White Top

I wanted to try a white top with these joggers and this trusty old peasant blouse (probably 8 years old!) spoke to me. I tucked it in to help with the extra flow and fabric and reached for these neutral heels. I really like this neutral look!

The blouse really has some pretty details which I think make it timeless: the keyhole, the dots, the blousy sleeves. Shopping your closet can be a lot of fun!
