    Stripes with White

I thrifted this dress for $2 at the end of the school year, knowing I could wear it any day on its own, but could also layer with it. Today, I am only sharing it with white, but it will be soon on the blog with brights! The first thing that caught my eye was the brown stripes followed by the material which is a cotton blend. I like that the straps are not spaghetti straps even though I usually wear a strapless bra with it. Sadly, it does not have pockets, but the fit and feel is so perfect for summer, so that I don’t mind. These sandals have…

    Double Denim for Summer

When I decided to create a new double denim outfit, I knew I wanted to pair light denim with dark denim again as I did earlier in the spring. Of course, I pulled the same skirt out first, but then realized I wanted to share something different. Back to my closet I went looking for contrasting denim and I found 2 Old Navy pieces. And that is how this outfit was born! While the top is a bit thick and warm for the hottest part of summer, this outfit might work in certain states on cooler summer days and would definitely be a great outfit for the fall! I really…

Inspired by a Pair of Earrings: Colorful Combo

Sometimes, the idea for an outfit starts with a piece of clothing or a shoe, and other times it starts with an accessory such as this beaded pair of earrings. I bought a couple pairs of beaded earrings on our family vacation to Colorado and this colorful pair was the starting point of the outfit I am sharing today. Just like with my outfit a few weeks ago with my white skirt and colorful top (here), I have had both of these pieces in my closet for a while, but have never paired them together. The color combo (yellow, green and orange) is an interesting one but it works surprisingly…

Summer Layering with the Ageless Style Link Up

There is something about wearing an outfit and feeling really good about it: not only the comfort, but the creativity and style! I threw this together last minute because I wanted to wear something different than just a dress and accessories. This is the type of layering that I can handle in the summer: it’s fun and it is not too hot. It also helped that I was wearing it in church which is kept fairly cool. I know it is just clothes, but an outfit that boosts your mood is worthy of a mention. So, on my way home, when Jodie asked me what my theme was going to…

    Thrifted Striped Dress

Today, I am sharing a simple thrifted dress I have enjoyed wearing the past couple of months. I have found myself reaching for dresses more this summer, so I have been browsing the dress section when I stop by the thrift store. Do I need more dresses in my closet? Probably not, but since I haven’t been reaching as much for some of mine, I decided to add a few. I finally realized that the dresses I have been thrifting have more of a relaxed fit and they have been either gauze, linen or a cotton blend. When it is warm, wearing something that is looser on your body makes…

    Wedding Attire with Tulle Dress

A fresh haircut! I always feel so stylish the day of my haircut! It had been almost 4 month and knowing that my friend was going out of town for a month, I texted her to see when she could get me in! With a fresh haircut, I wanted to take advantage of taking some pictures with an outfit I am planning to wear to a wedding this September. This is one of two weddings I will be attending, and while the other one’s outfit is going to take more thought (I am the sponsor which means I will be standing behind the bride the whole wedding), this idea came…

    Old Clothes, New Outfits

While I enjoy my thrifting outings and adding some new to me things to my closet, there’s nothing like the high of creating a new outfit from pieces that have been in my closet for a while and thinking: ” oh, I really like this outfit!”.  Such a moment happened a couple weeks ago, when I was planning outfits for the week after our vacation and decided to wear a couple pieces I hadn’t worn much or at all in a while. I really haven’t gotten rid of much this past year, but I also have been thrifting a little more than in the past, so I am working on…

4th of July Outfit Inspiration 2026

I love shopping my closet for 4th of July inspiration as you can tell from past posts ( summer patriotic looks, patriotic looks 2024 and here), so today, I am once again bringing you some ideas to remind you that you probably have more than one patriotic combination in your closet. Have you planned anything special for our country’s 250th birthday? I am sure we will head to our 4th of July parade and we will grill some yummy hamburgers (my secret recipe). I will have to pick up some sparklers for the boys and we will probably watch the fireworks from our big neighborhood hill. Tulle Skirt I have…

    Short Sleeve Denim Jacket

I mentioned on the blog several times this year how I wanted to thrifted a denim short sleeve jacket. After keeping my eyes peeled for one for a few months, I decided that the easiest way to get one was to create one from a regular long sleeve one. So last month, when I noticed this fun denim jacket with an embroidered sunflower patch on the back for just a few dollars, I decided that I would cut the sleeves off to create my own. Why did I want a short sleeve denim jacket? I have several sleeveless dresses that I like to wear to church, but want to cover…
