Weekend In Jacksonville

Two weekends ago, we spent the weekend in Jacksonville, Florida. My brother was having his church wedding and reception and while we didn’t want to miss the occasion we decided to do the trip in two days so as not to miss school nor work. It is a 6 hour drive one way and leaving early on Saturday to get there for their afternoon wedding worked out well. I really enjoyed the opportunity to dress up and cannot wait to see all of the pictures!

The wedding party was supposed to wear dusty rose and we each got to chose our dresses. After several really funny attempts, I came upon this dress on Amazon and was very pleased with the price and quality. I got some really nice photos with my husband and am planning to do an 8×10 next time Walgreens has a free special.

We had Sunday morning to ourselves so we had to take advantage of our proximity to the beach! Jacksonville beaches are nice as far as beaches on the Atlantic (we love the Gulf side of Florida) and we enjoyed a walk and some fun in the water.

The water was really foamy for some reason and the flag was red. I think there were some pretty strong undertoe currents. We did enjoy looking for shells and getting wet.

I ended up changing into my bathing suit in the car and getting wet and really should have done that at the hotel! Even with the AC on, it wasn’t a fun experience!

What would you chose to do with a weekend in Jacksonville? We have spent time here before and have visited the zoo there (which is worth a visit) but had never been to the beach there.
