Vacation Outfits: Casual and Simple

I did not wear everything I packed for our trip to North Carolina (mainly one dress and a sweatshirt), but otherwise I was pleased with my choice of clothing. I tend to pack more when we travel by car than by plane as we have more space. This trip involved a lot of leisure time as well as outdoor time. We typically did not leave the cabin till 11 or noon so I was really glad I had packed some cozy things.

Cozy Evenings

I had been wanting a star sweater for a while and found this one on Ebay. It was new with tags and before purchasing it, I checked the brand to make sure I was getting a good deal on it. It was an Amazon brand and ran around $30 and I got it for $18. I wore my black tank most evenings with these cozy pants.

Travel Outfit

This was my traveling outfit on the way to the cabin. I was very pleased that the cabin was only 2 and half hours away from home as my husband had to work the day we went and the day we came back. It allowed for a stress free trip as we knew how short the ride would be. I bought these Keen water shoes (kids size) last year before our anniversary trip to Costa Rica.

Denim Shorts

Denim shorts are a staple. Since the weather was very pleasant (we woke up to mid 50s and it really did not get past 80 degrees), I was able to wear shorts comfortably. Both these sandals were comfortable for what the days involved. The turquoise Keens have stood the test of time.. I have no idea how old they are but probably 8 years old at least. I really like gray graphic tees: simple but interesting.

Lake Day

We actually spent two days on the lake but I have no pictures from the 2nd day’s outfit. The first lake day, we rented a pontoon and I wore my bathing suit under. My oldest and I rode the tube behind the pontoon. This crop little top was perfect and I like how the white chunky sandals bookend the look. I may not be the best at wearing sunscreen, but I am good at wearing my hat! My little cargo skirt is another fun thrifted piece that I’ve had for years.

Skort

I decided to hike in style and wore a top I ordered from Brindle Boutique. I will have a whole blog post featuring this outfit coming up soon. I wore a pair of sneakers that are more fashion than practical for a hike but it all worked out. Here is the link to the top! I cannot wait to wear it with white shorts or my white skirt!

I also wore that same skort on the way home with another blouse (a thrifted one). I am wondering if I should add another one to my closet at some point. It is really practical and I love the material which makes me think of some of my joggers.
