Travel Outfits: Costa Rica Fall Break
We spent a week in Costa Rica for fall break with our kids in tow. My husband and I enjoyed our 20th anniversary trip so much last year that we decided to take the children to visit this beautiful country and we loved it! I will be sharing the food we ate, our excursions and more over the next few weeks. You can read my post about the food in this post from Friday. I packed about 3 weeks before the trip and while I did not shop for the past 5 weeks, I had bought a few tees before my birthday that I “saved” for the trip. My idea was stripes, orange and olive as an overall color scheme.
Plane Outfit 1 and 2
As I shared in a recent post, I bought this skirt from Halftee with the purpose of wearing it on our flight to and from Costa Rica. It was the perfect choice with how comfortable and put together I felt. I first wore it with a tank then a bodysuit which I snapped on the side. The hand me down hoodie was worn when I got cold. I wore my colorful Keens on the way back (kid size 5).
Stripes
This very casual v-neck tee was versatile and worked well with my fun colorful shorts and my olive pants. I do not like it as much as the striped top below, but I do like the lightweight material a lot.
I have found my skort to be very handy on active vacations and I really need to get another one this spring or summer. I found the olive Puma sneakers on clearance for $25 and they turned out comfortable for our outings that required closed toe shoes.
Graphic tees
I love graphic tees for a casual but still styled look while on vacation. I did get rid of several older ones that I wasn’t wearing anymore so my collection is still about the same size. The inspired tee is from Old Navy and is really soft.
Joggers
I bought these quick dry joggers this summer for the purpose of our trip in case we got rained on while hiking. While that didn’t happen, they still came in handy. I wore 2 outfits most days as our activities in the morning involved a lot of walking and getting sweaty. We had a washer and dryer in the first place we stayed at and where able to get our laundry done, so I was able to wear some of the same pieces twice.
I cannot wait to share more about our trip!

I wore everything I think! I think I did lose the olive pants/striped tee since I haven’t seen them since I unpacked. I really feel like I stuck them in someone’s suitcase, but they haven’t appeared yet.

You had a very versatile wardrobe packed. I love having a washer/dryer handy to rewear and pack less; especially when we’re getting active and sweaty.

I didn’t know I would use it, but sure am glad we were able to.

I think you did an amazing job packing for your vacation. I love graphic tees and almost always buy them from Old Navy. They’ve also started carrying some of them in petite sizes which makes them even better! I can’t wait to read more about your vacation!

Such great pics!! It looks incredible there. You have so many good outfits in this bunch. I love that skort and it seems so perfect for vacation! I like both striped tees but agree that I like the second one better. And that first purple skirt is SO cute!

You packed very efficiently and stylishly for your active vacation! Colors and the stripes that would all mix and match together was a great choice. Thinking your own wardrobe through, and those of your boys must have been no small feat for this trip! Coasta Rica looks so beautiful, I look forward to seeing more pictures!

These look like great outfits for your trip, and that skirt makes for such a pretty travel outfit! I usually travel in jeans when I’m on a plane, as it’s always so cold, haha! 🙂 Doesn’t look as stylish as yout flying outfit!
Thanks for joining the weekday wear link up 🙂

The skort is going to make it to the beach too! I might even bring the skirt too. Really still thinking about getting the purple skirt in another color.
