Travel Outfits: Costa Rica Fall Break

We spent a week in Costa Rica for fall break with our kids in tow. My husband and I enjoyed our 20th anniversary trip so much last year that we decided to take the children to visit this beautiful country and we loved it! I will be sharing the food we ate, our excursions and more over the next few weeks. You can read my post about the food in this post from Friday. I packed about 3 weeks before the trip and while I did not shop for the past 5 weeks, I had bought a few tees before my birthday that I “saved” for the trip. My idea was stripes, orange and olive as an overall color scheme.

Plane Outfit 1 and 2

As I shared in a recent post, I bought this skirt from Halftee with the purpose of wearing it on our flight to and from Costa Rica. It was the perfect choice with how comfortable and put together I felt. I first wore it with a tank then a bodysuit which I snapped on the side. The hand me down hoodie was worn when I got cold. I wore my colorful Keens on the way back (kid size 5).

Stripes

This very casual v-neck tee was versatile and worked well with my fun colorful shorts and my olive pants. I do not like it as much as the striped top below, but I do like the lightweight material a lot.

I have found my skort to be very handy on active vacations and I really need to get another one this spring or summer. I found the olive Puma sneakers on clearance for $25 and they turned out comfortable for our outings that required closed toe shoes.

Graphic tees

I love graphic tees for a casual but still styled look while on vacation. I did get rid of several older ones that I wasn’t wearing anymore so my collection is still about the same size. The inspired tee is from Old Navy and is really soft.

Joggers

I bought these quick dry joggers this summer for the purpose of our trip in case we got rained on while hiking. While that didn’t happen, they still came in handy. I wore 2 outfits most days as our activities in the morning involved a lot of walking and getting sweaty. We had a washer and dryer in the first place we stayed at and where able to get our laundry done, so I was able to wear some of the same pieces twice.

I cannot wait to share more about our trip!
