Costa Rica: The Beaches On the Pacific Ocean

Just like on  our past trip to Costa Rica, we only visited beaches on the Pacific side of the country on this trip too. We actually stopped exactly where we had last year on our way to Quepos and the only new beach to us was the one in Manuel Antonio National Park. I love the beaches in Costa Rica as they seem wild with their grey sand, rocks and wild vegetation.

On our way to Quepos

The drive to our resort from the airport was about 3h30 so we made a couple stops for pictures with the children. One was a scenic picture overlooking the tourist town of Jaco.

We stopped to walk on the beach a little further and observe the macaws flying in the sky (we were so excited to see about a dozen)! There were many little hermit crabs crawling around and sticking to the rocks.

Tulemar Resort

The resort has its own private beach surrrounded with wild vegetation and rocks. I did not take many pictures this time.

Manuel Antonio National Park Beach

This was my favorite: the water was perfect after walking and sweating on our guided tour. The sky was blue, the water was beautiful, it was just wonderful!

We enjoyed about 15 to 20 minutes here.

It was really fun to get in the water with the boys: I play in the pool with them but I don’t typically go in the ocean much. I might have to brave the chill during Thanksgiving break and get in the water on our vacation.

A bientôt!
