A Walk down Church St in Marietta, GA
Last weekend, my sister in law came to the house to hang out with her mom so I could get away for a longer period of time without worries. My husband and I decided to go to Kennesaw Mountain and since our boys decided they would rather play with their neighbor friends, we ended with a day date of an afternoon away. After our hike (which I will share next week), we went to Marietta which is just a few miles away.
We pass under this bridge every week on our way to church and since we parked on the other side, we got to walk on it on our way to Church St. which has beautiful historic homes. For years, I have said I would like to park the car and walk and admire the homes from the sidewalk instead of the car, so we took advantage of this day to do that.
It’s amazing how beautiful pieces of plastic can be. With the light hitting right, color shadows were on the bridge as well as the street below. Very cool!
The homes are of different styles with large backyards and driveways, guest houses and pool or playgrounds. Most our historical from the early 1900s.
I’ve always enjoyed looking at homes in neighborhoods and fancy homes are especially fun to look at. I really like the sunroom in the house on the right. It would be such a nice space to sit in on a sunny day.
This house was one of our favorites. We really like the details with the woodwork and the door was quite awesome. The house has a bit of a Bavarian feel and we could tell that there was a lot of woodwork on the inside too.
I think this was my favorite: I love the Tudor style, the steps and walkway to the house and that lovely grass. There was a nice outdoor space on the side of the house too which was very appealing.
This last Cape Cod style house looked like it belonged up North. I love how these houses are not cookie cutter and each is unique. The size of the lots are quite impressive for being so close to the town square and so well located. Hope you enjoyed this little tour!

Gosh, those houses are amazing. You see them from a different perspective when walking vs driving. That’s why we love walking Piper too.

Oh, wouldn’t it be fun if they did a house tour there? Can you imagine how beautiful they must be on the inside? I loved all of them. There are some streets in Indianapolis with homes like these, but (the ones I’m thinking of anyway) there aren’t any sidewalks to stop and gander at them. The bridge is really pretty, too. The Indianapolis airport did something like that with fencing that’s up on a hill. I’ve always thought it would be a really cool backdrop for photos for the blog, but there isn’t anywhere remotely close to park. Thanks for sharing these, Mireille!

That would be very fun. They have a Christmas house tour in the area and I wonder if a couple of those houses are included. Maybe I will try to go next year.
