“Mini” Dresses: OOTD for the last week of July
This will be my last OOTD post for a little while: I feel accomplished having rotated a few different sections of my closet the last few weeks. First with my thrifted shorts, then my maxi skirts and last my shorter dresses. While the exercise was fun, I did find it a little boring to wear the same style of clothes several days in a row. So I will be back to my regular diverse outfits for a while.
TJMaxx Dress
I’ve worn this dress for the blog and to go to the rodeo with my cowboy boots! On this occasion, I went to the grocery store and errands and just had to be careful bending down!
Thrifted Amazon Dress
While I try to limit and not shop on Amazon for clothes, sometimes I find something that I know is from Amazon while thrifting. I really like the print and colors of this dress, the material is nice and the loose and flowy fit is great for summer. I wore this for my son’s middle school open house. I think I wore it last for one of the boys’ honors nights in May.
Umgee Dress with Crop Top
A fun way to wear your crop tops is to layer them over a dress! I love the happy colors of this outfit!
First Day of School
Another thrifted dress for the first day of school. I walked the youngest to his 1st grade class and we walked from home: I am glad the entrance is closer than the Kindergarten hall: it will cut out about 3 minutes from our walk!
Mustard Gold and Turquoise
I am still on the lookout for teal or turquoise sandals, but until then I will use my jewelry to add that color to my outfits!
New Dress from TJmaxx
This dress does not fit my criteria for the theme of the week, but I thought it was very appropriate for meeting my other two boys’ teachers. I found this on clearance this week and really love that it! It’s an Anne Klein dress and it was $10.
I am adding a couple shorts outfits with my thrifted shorts: they pair quite well with my graphic tees, don’t they?

That’s a great selection of dresses. Love the mustard dress and the First Day of School dresses best. How nice to walk your child to school – I remember those days well. Also I loved collecting my grandson from school – he’s now 6′ 1″!

It sure is nice to be able to walk him! Of course, the boys each go to a different school because of their age difference so he is the only one I can do that with.

Even though they’re all short dresses, they all so different from each other. I really like the turquoise added to the mustard gold dress. Good idea to layer the crop top over a dress!
I hope your sons enjoy their school years!

I love that I wear my things over and over!
Sally in St Paul
The blue dress with the crop top layered over is a brilliant way to wear a short top!

I need to do that more often: I don’t have a lot of crop tops but I do have 2 or 3.

First of all, those thrifted shorts have been such treasures. I love each time you style them. So many different looks.
Goodnight nurse, these minis are all adorable. Love the idea of wearing a crop top over a dress. So many tops these days are boxy and short. Wearing them over a dress is such a great solution. So that blue dress with the crop top is probably my fave. Followed closely by the brown and white dress you wore for the first day of school. I don’t know how it is at your son’s school but drop off and pick up at my granddaughters’ school is a nightmare. You can truly be there for an hour in the drive through line. Just terrible.

Thankfully, drop off and pick up is better nowadays: the youngest, I walk him so it is fast. 5th grader takes the bus and my 8th grader, I drop off in the am, just maybe 5 min in line but I pick him up at the park (he goes with the walkers) to avoid afternoon car line!
