August Weekly Outfits

Too many cute outfits not to share! I am gearing up for a month or so of no shopping and any time I plan a time period like that, I like to do a little reorganizing in my closet to give it a fresh look. This time it was moving my striped short sleeve tops with the rest of the short sleeves tops: I thought I “needed” more tops until I put them next to each other and realized I had a lot of choices.

Saturday

I wore two different olive top (one about 6 years old and one recently thrifted). It got so warm in the afternoon that I couldn’t wear the morning top for church. Both the shorts and the skirt were thrifted and when I put on the skirt, I remembered why I like it so much. It has a fun shape and a short slip under so you do not have any incidents with the wrap style.

Sunday

Church time and a visit with my college kid in downtown Atlanta. I am trying to wear tops I haven’t worn in a while and what better way to wear this top than with my tulle skirt! I added my thrifted sandals and switched to my thrifted denim for lunch. Peachtree St. in Atlanta was closed down for foot and bike traffic, so it was kind of fun to walk around. There was a nice police presence to make you feel comfortable walking around. I couldn’t pass up a mural to take my photo for the day. The weather has been a little weird lately with big rainstorm coming out of nowhere. Thankfully, we made it to our car before it poured, however my son got soaked on his way to his convocation (a 1st year school activity) while my husband and youngest got soaked trying to find my husband’s car.

Monday

It was time for new tires: I knew I would be spending some time waiting at the automotive place, so I wanted to be comfortable. Gap slim jeans with my souvenir blouse from France (summer 2019). I often pair it with these yellow sandals and today I added some turquoise accents.

Tuesday

I wanted to make sure to wear my red dress one more time this summer so I paired it with white  and gold this go around. I have worn it with turquoise and yellow several times. Today was a day to take my mom out for some thrifting time!

Wednesday

I wanted to wear this flowy jumpsuit as a dress like Jodie did but the straps were too short. So I wore it with a new color combo: grey! I love how accessories can change up a dress or jumpsuit!

Thursday

When I told my mom I was looking for a white maxi skirt on our thrifting outing, she told me to try on hers (it is too big for her). Score! I did find one item on that outing, this cute top with a really fun shiny copper pattern throughout. I paired this with tan accessories. That top was my last buy (for a whopping $1.50) till Oct. 1!

Friday

These thrifted shorts are such a good pair of shorts! I am finding all kinds of tops in my closet to wear with them. I chose this thrited purple top because it had been a couple months since I wore it.

Do you have weeks where you love all of your outfits? This past week was one for me: I love every single outfit!

I just love how you wear what you have. And organizing your closet can give you new ideas. SOmetimes, just placing certain items next to something else is like a lightbulb.
Bummer that the jumpsuit didn’t work as a dress. My straps tie, so I guess that makes a difference. You could always switch out the straps??
Love that your mom gave you this white maxi skirt. I have one on my list too even though I have a couple of ivory ones.
    XOXO

I saw a couple ivory ones when I was actually looking but I really wanted a white one. I probably still buy one at some point, but most likely next year!

Those shorts and the others you picked up on the same day were such a great find. Love the periwinkle top you paired them with here. What good fortune on your mom’s white skirt. I really wanted one this year but have to stop buying dresses and skirts that I wear so infrequently. I remember your cropped slim denim from last year. That trim at the hem makes them so much fun.

I am so glad I am taking another little shopping break: it makes me work on wearing everything I have and with the weather getting cooler hopefully by October, then it will feel like I have a new wardrobe with fall things and putting away by most summery things.
