Backyard and City Creatures
I have been coming across some critters recently and was able to take pictures of most of them (sadly, not the fox trotting down the street). So today I am sharing those pictures with you as I always love seeing them and I thought you might enjoy them too. First, we have a throwback to a dragonfly while going down the river by our neighborhood. There were a couple that kept landing on my leg and shoe as we floated down.

Then, this praying mantis welcomed me when I went out to grill dinner. My youngest was afraid of it, so I took a picture so he could see the details. Once, we saw one eat a butterfly in our flower garden!

My son was mowing the lawn a few weeks ago (for a total of 2 min) and stopped when he almost mowed over this cute frog. We moved it and then I went back to the mowing.

Once you notice one little animal, than you notice more! I glanced up from my book and notice this little lizard on the other egg chair. He tried to camouflage himself by not moving, so I was able to take a close-up picture of him.

We noticed this little feller by our bikes when we rode downtown. I am not sure if he was injured since he just stayed there.

A bientôt!

You got some great shots! We often see deer, raccoons, rabbits, and all sorts of wildlife but rarely do they pause long enough for me to snap a picture of them.

It’s really neat when I have the camera handy! I am still hoping to get a picture of a hummingbird when it flies right in front of my egg chair, but I am never ready!

Wow…I’m so glad your son didn’t run over the frog with the mower. And this post doesn’t count the bigger creatures you’ve seen.

Yes! I already had shared those pictures so I didn’t add them back to this post.

Love how you are stopping to appreciate all the details of the world around us! I saw 3 coyotes while running yesterday. It was so neat! Normally we don’t see so many at a time.

Yes! It’s interesting to see what you can observe when you take a moment and sometimes it’s something you don’t see often. Lately, I have had hawks fly really low in front of my car!

It’s fun to see what you can find when you pay attention.

Beautiful pictures!
I keep thinking I should take my small camera along more often, usually when I see something and regret not having it on me (no smartphone)!

Yes! It would be fun to see what you encounter!

There’s so much to see if you have an eye for it, and take the time to really look and see. I especially like the lizard, though it creeps me out at the same time ; )

That’s funny! He was a little thing!
