Fall Field Trip Outfit Shopped from my Closet
Last month, my youngest had a field trip to the farm, the same field trip as the last year. The field was not very exciting: there were a lot of classes, a lot of waiting and it just wasn’t too exciting. It sounded like there was some miscommunication between the school and the original field trip destination so I guess, it will be the same farm field trip 3 years in a row! While we were there, we did enjoy seeing the animals, some play time and I took advantage of the location to have my 5 year old take some blog pictures for me.
I was excited for the fall like weather with the overcast sky and mild temperature. Since the school colors are purple and gold, I thought my thrifted tunic would be perfect and instead of leggings, I paired it with shorts. It is funny because the tunic is almost as long as my shorts!
My boys are always up for taking some pictures since I pay them a dollar per picture and it is easier and faster than paid chores (even if not as lucrative). I am wearing an old pair of snakeskin sneakers from Target. They are really fun to add an extra print to an outfit.
Instead of a purse, I used a Vera Bradley lanyard wallet to hold my car remote, ID and debit card. My neighbor gave it to me at one of her yard sales and I have recently been using it when carpooling and such.
I really like pairing long sleeves with shorts but there are not many days here you can do that. It is usually either too hot or too cold for that combination. So I am glad the weather was perfect for that!
My son insisted on this picture! We only walked in the corn maze for a couple of pictures instead of doing the maze since we were ready to go home for lunch. I haven’t found field trips super exciting lately probably because the boys go through the same ones. But I was glad to put a smile on my son’s face.
A bientôt!

I absolutely love that your kids take your photos! They’s so good at it too! It amazes me that a five year old can do that! The outfit is super cute, Mireille and the lanyard is a great idea to carry your small items around. I always like to be hands-free!

With my 5 year old I really have to watch the height which is why you end up seeing more pictures of me sitting unless I can get him higher.

I’m not a fan of tunics, but this one is very pretty. It looks amazing on you!

I don’t have too many anymore. I just got rid of one today.

Your boys always do such a great job with your photos! This looks like a comfy and cute outfit that is just perfect for a field trip.

I am very grateful for their help with blog pictures.

Fun pics! That’s too bad the farm wasn’t that exciting but it did make for a great backdrop. The colors in your top are so pretty!

Wow! There is nothing worse than when a field trip goes wrong…doesn’t matter whose fault…it’s nerve wracking for everyone! One year, we had an all day outside field trip at a battle re-enactment. It was one of my favorite field trips, but that year it poured the entire day. We saw one group with the kids all wearing garbage bags. From that time on, I always got a roll of those super heavy duty garbage bags from the custodian so we didn’t get soaked again. We may not have been fashion plates, but we were dry!
I love this tunic, Mireille. It looks like Free People. Your sons do a great job taking your photos.

Oh my, soggy field trips could put a damper on things. Sounds like a great field trip though!

That is a really cute look. My eldest loves to flip the camera and take close ups of his own face. A dollar a ‘good’ picture might change that.

That is funny! My 12 year old and 9 year olds sure enjoy taking funny pictures of me when they can.

At least you got some great photos from the field trip. I love the sneakers with the look.

That’s such a pretty blouse – glad the weather cooperated to wear it with shorts for a different look. I always like seeing your snakeskin sneakers too.

Thank you! I am taking those sneakers to the beach. For some reason I barely wore them last year but I am making it up for it this year.

Great outfit! The purple blouse looks so good on you.

It looks like you made the most of this field trip, and got some great outfit photos with a nice backdrop, anywhy. I am amazed that your 5 year old took these! Love the look, the colors of your blouse are beautiful on you. Enjoy your weekend, and thanks for sharing!

My kids get practice most days so if I have a nice backdrop we try to take advantage.

You look so cute in your shorts and purple tunic. Check out your great legs!! Wow!!
I used to hate that the kids had the same field trips…first grade to the dairy, second grade to the planetarium, fourth grade to the missions. But I guess as long as a child wasn’t held back, it was new to them.

You are so funny! Running really helps! It is new for the kids for sure, but as a parent with 4 kids in the same school system, I am getting bored!

Great idea to echo the school’s colors with your tunic! And good idea to pay your boys for pics. I wonder if that would work with my husband?! Thanks for linking
mimifce
Ha ha! My husband just doesn’t take good pictures when I want outfit pictures so I never ask him. And the boys now usually almost fight for it so they get some easy income.

Well at least you had some fun even if it was the same field trip. I find field trips a little tedious at times but my kids have always liked them – or mostly liked them.
I love the photos and the outfits!

Mine usually do too. One of the boys had a field trip to the GA aquarium this week, so that was a good one. I didn’t go because I didn’t want to spend the $$ for myself.
