Sun City Neighborhood Walk
One of the things I enjoyed while visiting Jodie and Rob in Arizona was walking with them through their neighborhood. I also went on an early morning 4 mile run and ran faster than I had in a while. The land is flat and the air much dryer than Georgia. I really enjoyed seeing the variety of cacti and saw a few other quirky things.
Before I forget, I saw quite a few rabbits on these walks and the most memorable bird was a green lovebird. Those rabbits were everywhere!
The cacti were starting to bloom and for someone from the south, that is a beautiful sight. All of the yards were rocks with the exception of maybe one or two that had turf. This was my favorite color of rocks. The green rocks were my least favorite.
Another thing that I admired was all of the decorative metal work on the house: from animals to abstract, they were all original.
You could tell that most of the cacti had been there for a while by the sizes of the plants. They were all really large.
There are also palm trees which I find fascinating: I always associate palm trees with Florida. I enjoyed this sunrise: that’s the advantage of getting up early!
I cannot wait to visit Arizona again and explore some more. Maybe I can convince my husband to join me?
A bientôt!

I would LOVE to see one of those green lovebirds, and of course the rabbits! It’s been a while since I’ve been to Arizona, but I know I’ll be back – there is a lot to see for nature lovers.

These rockeries take me back to my childhood home as my late dad had plenty of cacti and other plants and we loved to watch them bloom, as they are so different from the usual flowers.
I visited you via Slices of Life. My entries are numbered #30+31.

Yes, the uniqueness of them is really cool! When I lived in Mexico, I saw some but now as many as we lived in the city!

We always feel like the palm trees make it feel like a constant vacation. We love how the cacti look as long as you don’t run into them, haha.

What gorgeous photos, Mireille! I don’t know if I could get used to not having grass, though. I definitely wouldn’t be painting my stones green, I do know that! Thanks for sharing these.

I think I would like the rocks if I lived there but I would have to figure out which I liked!
