Thrifted Overalls: 2 Ways

Do you own a pair of overalls? I thrifted this pair in Arizona this summer and a pair of shorts overalls at home and have been wanting to style these. Because it is still a little warm for thick more fitted jeans, I haven’t worn these yet apart for these pictures and my flight back from Arizona (with a tank). I decided to share 2 fall looks, one dressier and the other more casual.

Dressy Denim Overall

While these are not exactly the style I have been looking for (I would rather them be wide leg and a lighter denim), until I find the perfect pair, this pair will work! I did see the perfect pair on the Old Navy website, but too late as they have been sold out and they have not come back online.

I pulled the red from this cold shoulder top as my accent and really like the contrast with the dark denim. I also like how the little heel elongates the outfit: not all pictures are created equal: we had to retake a couple because they were not flattering.

I typically like something slim fitting with my overalls, but I do like the contrast of these fun sleeves with them. I am thinking I should try some of my tops that have fun balloon or peasant sleeves with them. It would offset the slim pant line.

Casual Stripes

There is nothing wrong with this outfit, but I don’t absolutely love it. I really think that the fun sleeve effect from the first outfit adds interest to the overalls and makes them less basic. I will definitely make a point to try different combinations this fall to see how I like to wear these.

I haven’t switched out my closet yet for fall/winter except for some 3/4 sleeves and I am looking forward to pulling out some light sweaters to pair with the overalls. I think a sweater and booties would look super cute.

    I think these are both really cute outfit ideas. If you want to punch up the second outfit perhaps a large or colorful necklace or scarf?

      I’m not a fan of overalls, but I have to say that these look very good on you. Both styles look great and they’re are so many items you could wear under these. Enjoy your weekend.

      That is a great idea! I did something like that with a basic tee and jeans outfit and tied a colorful scarf around a belt loop.

    I really like the casual outfit…it has that French flair! I think, if you added the red heels to it, you’d like it better, too. But, both outfits are really good!

    I have that pair of ON bibs you wanted! I’m struggling with the fit. The petites were just too short in the rise, and the regulars (which I kept) are off, too. But, I’m going to make them work. I think it’s the straps I have to figure out!

      I am jealous! My friend was wearing the ON overalls too… I was just late to the game of trying to buy them. I am still on the lookout though, and would buy them retail if I see a pair just like I want.
