An Outfit Inspired by one of Jennifer’s Dizis
This was another instance when I took pictures, added them to a blog but forgot to write the blog post itself before I pressed the publish button. I had to quickly schedule it for another day and post a different outfit blog on the day I had planned this one. Jennifer from Curated by Jennifer loves her dizis or Turkey soap operas and regularly recreated outfits she has seen on those shows. I recently wore my crochet vest, and she reached out with pictures from one of her dizis that she thought I could recreate. So today, I am sharing that outfit.

While I am not in love with this outfit, I do like the combination and think it is great for a layer look on a hot day. I think the main thing I would change is the necklace, as I think more of a choker would work better. I also now thrifted a pair of dark printed shorts that I could switch for this skort.
Maybe I should have tucked in my flowy top? I like analyzing what I do or don’t like about an outfit and this is a good one to work with. I really want to take another picture and add it to the end of the post with a different version. If I do, I can see if those changes make a difference about how much I like the outfit.

I always have a pair of white sneakers in my closet. I feel like it got warm pretty quickly this spring and I had about a month when I tried to wear open sandals as to not rub my foot, so I haven’t worn any of my cute sneakers much this spring.

Alright, So which outfit do you like better? My original version or my updated look?
I switched my skort for these thrifted shorts, my necklace for this chunky one and the earrings for a pair of silver thick hoops. I also tucked in my tank and switched it backwards. Below is the inspiration for this look!

A bientôt!

I love seeing your process with this! It’s so helpful how you break down what you like and what you’d tweak—it really makes styling feel more approachable. I do think the updated version works really well, especially with the tuck and the chunkier accessories. And how fun that it was inspired by one of Jennifer’s dizis!

At first, I couldn’t pinpoint what I didn’t like… so it was helpful!

I especially love how you switched up the outfit and turn the tank around… Now that’s being the boss of your clothes!!

I think I have two thanks that are reversible like that, very practical!

It is always interesting to see what works or doesn’t for oneself.

You nailed it! Love the boho vest. I have done the same thing with second guessing myself after seeing a pic. I think it looks fine untucked. I do like the shorts too!

That’s the thing about taking pictures… you definitely see what you like or don’t like about an outfit.

I like both versions of this outfit. The long, open crocheted vest is a very interesting statement piece, and adds a lot of personality to both outfits. I can see this vest in the fall and winter as well, layered. Love seeing your process. I frequently post a picture and immediately see what I could do next wear to improve it, also. Thanks for sharing and hope you have a good week!

I think my favorite way to wear this vest has been to wear it over a column of white or black.

You really re-created that well! I like the look!

It’s interesting how much the change of necklace impacted the look – I agree that the shorter one is more like the inspiration, but I liked the original necklace and V neck neckline too.

It’s interesting how each one changes the look.

I like the way you made your own version of Jennifer Dizis outfit. It really is very similar!

It was fun to try!
