Bonnin’s Bakery, Kennesaw, GA, a Delightful French Bakery

I’ve been meaning to share this little piece of France for a little bit, but I wanted to take some pictures before I did. So, I am finally sharing Bonnin’s Bakery, a French bakery owned and run by a young French couple just a little over 20 min from my house. Bonnin’s Bakery started at farmer’s markets in the area (Acworth, Marietta, Cartersville and Canton) until they were able to open a brick and mortar storefront about a year and a half ago. From the start, I enjoyed conversing in French with the young wife and found their viennoiserie to be authentic. Papa-tissier as they call her husband and baker was trained in France and they have been in the US for several years.

We do not go very often because I usually end up spending 30 to 50 dollars, buying our favorite pain aux raisins (raisins swirl in a croissant dough), beignets for my youngest and other treats.

We occasionally buy some syrop (which you mix with water) and my favorite orange soda, Orangina awaits on the cooler shelf. I also buy my favorite brand of mustard there, Amora. One of my favorite things is to order a jambon-beurre sandwich to go with a salad for a picnic. I am planning to do that one day next week as well as when I take the boys to the botanical gardens the week after school is out.

It’s always better to get there early if you want something specific like the pains aux raisins because there are usually less of them than the croissants, pains au chocolat and other delights. I usually buy them out, but there are usually more than enough of everything else.

They usually have a variety of macaroons, but my favorite pastry is the fraisier, an airy pastry with Chantilly. Delicious! So I give Bonnin’s bakery a 5 star! Authentic, delicious, friendly and French!

The eating space is very cute with a little seating area too. There are also a couple table and chairs in front as you noticed in the first picture.

So if you live in the area, stop on by! The bakery is just 2 minutes of of exit 273 on I75! Or check out the farmers markets!

A bientôt!

Just so you know, you probably meant macarons, not macaroons. I see macarons in the case and they are not the coconut, cakey textured cookie we call macaroons.
