What to Wear to a Fieldtrip
Since I only have one child in primary/elementary school, there are not too many more opportunities to go accompany one of my children on a Fieldtrip. Most of the fieldtrips are to the same places every year, so I pick and choose which to go to. Going to the strawberry farm to pick strawberries is my type of fun, so that was the occasion for this outfit.
I usually try to wear something in the school’s colors on field trip or sports events. Our school colors are purple and gold. While I sometimes wear school sponsored clothes, I would rather wear something a little more interesting and fun from my closet. I do have several purple shirts and this thrifted one is one of my most casual ones.
Sneakers that are easy to wipe down are a most when you are going to a farm. There will be dirt, there might be mud and you do not want to ruin a pair of shoes. Denim joggers are a cross between jeans and sweatpants and are very comfortable to move and sit in.

I have practically ruined shoes before, so now I think about it. The field trip was rescheduled to next Friday so I am not sure if there will be any strawberries left.

I always loved field trips! My last year of teaching was so bittersweet as each field trip was the last one. You are wise in wearing old shoes. That was something we always told our kids…wear old shoes because they will get dirty!

Ah, fresh strawberries! They are so good. I used to pick them when I was 12,13, to earn a bit of money for the Holidays. Great trousers!

Oh my gosh, I love this field trip outfit so much! Our school colors are purple and white with gold accents and like you, I prefer to wear a purple outfit in my own style rather than school logoed pieces. (By the way, I just got a pair of purple and gold cowgirl boots. I stalked them for close to a year until there was a 60% flash sale! I can’t wait to wear and share them. They are beautiful!) Last school year was my last one for being a field trip mom. My goodness, the time flies by way too quickly! Sorry that I am comment-bombing you today!
