Kimono outfits for Spring

One of the purposes of my blog is to show you that fashion can be fun and affordable and that you do not need an overflowing closet to dress in a cute and relevant manner. This year, I am trying to buy with a purpose and to think through my purchases. One of the things I wanted to add to my closet was one or 2 kimonos and I found one half off on Amazon last month in a burgundy color. I probably will look for a teal one at some point in April but I wanted to show how just one kimono and one pair of pants can create a number of looks.

In these outfits, the only thing that changes are my tees. Same pants, same shoes. Imagine changing the sage pants to white jeans, blue denim, black pants, shorts of different colors or changing the shoes: endless possibilities! When you purchase an item, make sure that you have several combos and outfits in mind and you will get your dollars worth out of that item.

Simple white tee or black tee

This is the easiest combo, pair your kimono with a white tee!

Here it is with a black tee.

Color block

Choose the dominant color in your kimono and find a matching tee in your closet. In this case, I have had this scoop neck tee for years and haven’t worn it much. Here is my opportunity!

Pattern mixing

Who doesn’t like stripes? I have several striped tees in my closet and I chose this one because the stripes are thinner so it is a lighter pattern with the large floral.

Leopard and floral

I came up with this combo after writing the post and had to have my son take one more picture. This is another really cool combo. I think it works because the leopard print is in the grey family. Nice surprise!

So there you have it. One kimono, 5 ways and so many more possibilities! My favorite of these is probably the leopard print and kimono and another favorite would have been with a graphic tee but I am sure I will make that one happen soon once I get to the store next month!
