Ready for Spring, but Wear it Now
Welcome to the Sunday Showcase! I love a piece that can be worn year round: the Denise top is a gorgeous top from Avara that I received when I became an ambassador for the brand last month. I was drawn to it because of the royal blue, the pretty sleeves and how I thought it would fit my style with a little boho vibe with the collar. I have recently learned how important it is to read the sizing for a piece: I could tell from the pictures of the blouse, that it would be boxy and a little cropped to I decided to size down to an XS. The…

Graphic Tees: A Great Season Transition Tool
When I realized that I had not worn a graphic tee since fall, I decided it would be great to incorporate my favorites in my late winter outfits. Layers were needed in the mornings but it warmed up in the afternoon, so you can imagine each outfit without the topper. I tried to create a variety of looks and included a skirt outfit. With a Blazer This is probably my favorite way to wear a blazer: pair it with a graphic tee and denim in a casual manner. This mushroom tee from Target is still available and was a new addition this fall before our family trip to Costa Rica.…

Love Language: Time: Spending Time with my Children
My feed post on IG on Valentine’s day talked about what I consider one of my top love language which is time. Spending time with my loved ones doing things they would like to do or going on vacations as a family to be able to spend extended quality time together is one of my ways to show my love for them. In respect to my children, being able to give them the gift of my time at some point of the day is a way for me to love them. Most day, time is spent playing with them for a while, whether it is 30 minutes or an hour…

Gifted and Thrifted: Outfit under $5
There are some fun aspects of blogging that I have enjoyed in small doses one of which is working with different brands and receiving free products and some income from sales generated through your coupon code. I haven’t worked with many (Clara Sunwoo, I love their products and my favorite has been my liquid leather skinny pocket pants , code MIREILLE10; Halftee, my favorite two are the lace halftee in this outfit and the cap sleeve white halftee, code MIREILLE20, and a couple other ones). Another perk is entering giveaways on blogs and IG and occasionally winning something. Lastly is sharing my love of fashion, thrifting and having fun getting…

Suede Skirt and Black Leather Jacket
Every so often, I have the desire to wear a little short skirt for a fun date night look! I bought this skirt September 2021 and only have worn it a handful a times, but it’s such a fun skirt to have! It actually fits better now than it did then. Once again, I turned to Pinterest to get some ideas because I did not want to copy a look I already shared on the blog. I shared it one way here in 2021 and that was actually how I thought of it again, but that look was already done! I’ve also worn it with light tan boots and a…

Friendship: Finding my Tribe
A lot of my frienships have come and gone over the years due to circumstances and physical distance. A few frienships have stayed strong in particular my best friend in France (we still typically message once or more throughout the week) and a college friend with whom it feels like time hasn’t passed when we get together even if we have seen each other for several years. I have mourned other friendships which I thought were strong but busy life and distance took their toll or I felt I shouldn’t be the one to always reach out. I moved to our present house 6 years ago and it took a…

Winter White with Brights
I haven’t really worn my white jeans much this winter, but I have always loved a winter white monochromatic look or a white with a bright look. It makes me think of snow, of crisp clear air and it also is a little ode to spring coming. Today’s outfit features a newer sweater but the rest of my outfit was shopped from my closet. I still cannot believe I didn’t wear these boots for years. Now I pair them with everything. I took a couple close up pictures of my accessories as I really like all of these pieces. The earrings were a birthday gift from my brother a couple…

Maxi Skirts in Cold Weather with the Ageless Style Link Up
It is always interesting to see what theme is going to be suggested for our Ageless Style monthly post. I wouldn’t have thought of maxi skirts for winter, but it is a theme that gets us creative and I thoroughly enjoyed wearing this outfit on a bright cold Sunday morning. When wearing a skirt in the winter, you need to think about what to make sure you are warm and I was not cold at all. I picked up this maxi skirt at Belk in the clearance section: I love the print and color and it even has pockets! It is very flowy and not too light for a winter…

Inspired by The Stylo Rouge: Oversized Blazer with Denim Skirt
All I can say is great minds think alike! Both Jodie and I thought it would be great to replicate Ashley’s outfit in a blog post so we decided to do so together! So you get 3 looks in one post today. Both Jodie and I borrowed something from our husband’s closet and I borrowed one thing from my son! Here is the link to Ashley’s blog post I love the texture in Ashley’s boots and wool blazer, as well as the hem on her denim skirt. Since I do not have an oversized blazer, I borrowed my 13 year old’s blazer (it is still too big for him so…

3 Ways to wear Leggings
Wearing leggings as part of an outfit does not mean that you have to look like a slob: you can look put together weather you are wearing them casually with a sweatshirt and sneakers or they can be part of a really cute outfit. Think about outfits where you would be wearing black jeans. I just make sure that my bum is covered to keep the look put together and modest. Casual Look This is probably the most dressed down you will see me in leggings: I combine them with a cozy but nice sweatshirt and try to choose a pair of cute sneakers. With my utilitarian hiking shoes, I…
