    Rock City, Chattanooga, TN

Since we were not going anywhere on vacation for our week of fall break, I decided to take a couple overnight trips as I was able to get my 2 sisters in law to come over to help their mom who lives with us. The first overnight was a late anniversary trip for my husband and I, and the second was for the boys. I decided on Chattanooga as our destination for its proximity and all of the different things we can do there. We will probably return for another overnight during the Christmas break. Rock City sits atop Lookout Mountain and features many large rock formations, beautiful views and…

Inspired by Jill: Cargo Skirt and Black

One of the ways that inspires me to shop my closet is to find inspiration for outfits from others, typically bloggers I have followed for a while. I have gotten a little particular about some of the accounts I follow on IG because I do get tired of the mentality of buy buy buy. One of the things I like about Jill from Doused in Pink is that she often shares post where she shares several ways to wear an item or shares a collection of outfits she has worn following a theme (for example how to wear leopard print over 50). In a recent post, she shared 3 ways…

Restyle Style: Another Lace Halftee Outfit

If you have been reading my blog for a while or seen my outfits on IG, you know that I like to use the hashtag #restylestyle. While I do shop (and sometimes more than I should), I also like to wear what I have over and over, and there are some things in my closet that are definitely favorites. Case in point, all of the pieces in this outfit. There is only one pair of denim that gets put away during the cold months, and this one isn’t it! We have warmer days throughout the year, so some cropped pants are wearable in the fall here! When I decided to…

    Runner’s Spotlight: Brooke

Brooke is a travel physical therapist and spent several months in our area. She joined our Wire 2 Wire running club while she lived here and was a great person to run with. She has amazed all of us with her endurance and accomplishments! 1. How and when did you start running? I grew up with a heavy dance background and had my fair share of knee injuries and finally one day I decided it was time to find a new hobby to keep me active. About 2 years before this, I met my now fiance, Keith, and he had just started getting into running so I figured I would…

Dress and Kimono with White Western Boots

White cowboots outfit inspiration, again? Yes, please! I am hope you are not tired of these boots because they are yet again making an appearance, this time in a completely thrifted outfit! I originally shared this pink bubblegum dress here back in June and have worn it several times since then. It’s a great simple fit and the little textured polka dots give it some interest. To create a fall outfit, I decide to add a kimono, the idea having been inspired by an outfit I saw on IG last month. I do not wear my kimonos much lately, but I still love them! I decided not to add any…

7 Days Of Skirt Challenge Fall 2024

When Gail from Is this Mutton reached out again to ask me to participate in her 7 Days of Skirt Challenge, I of course said yes! I love having the opportunity to wear my skirts and to wear them in new ways. I didn’t want to share the same ones as last year (the denim one does make its reappearance) and it turns out that most of these outfits were inspired by others so I share the inspiration pictures too! Leopard Maxi I have had this leopard maxi for years and of course had paired it with a black top before, but never had added a cream topper to it:…

    Favorite Early Fall Outfits

I post most of my daily outfits on Instagram and occasionally like to share some favorites here on the blog. Most times I manage to find a new way to wear each pieces so they are few repeated outfits. You might see the same shoes chosen to be worn with pants (I love that snakeskin sneaker with the camo pants for example), but I then try to chose a different top. Of course, there is nothing wrong with repeating an exact outfit, but I love to challenge of changing it up a little. Olive One of my favorites from fall is olive and the camo skinnies have been a favorite…

    Minimal Fall Decor

I have become a lot more minimalist with my decor in the past few years. I have become ruthless with what I put out and keep and like, and apart from the Christmas season, there are usually just a few touches to mark the season in my house. I typically decorate the living area and add a few touches to the dining room (which really don’t use much anymore) and our coffee island. The coffee island is where I decided to add my fall metal sign this year as well as a couple felt pumpkins I bought a couple years ago. I forgot to turn on the lights on the…

Impractical, but Oh so Fun: Boho Whimsical Sweater

When I am thrifting, my eyes are always drawn to items that have a bohemian element to them. I recently shared a fun tee with crochet sleeves I thrifted this summer and a week or two after that I found this pretty top in an antique booth in a shop downtown. I had already seen it on a previous visit, but as that lady was closing her booth, it was discounted even more and I just had to try it on! The brand is Gimmicks and as I looked at their website, I saw that they have many items that would appeal to me! While I know the sleeves are…

Bright Dress with Blazer Inspired by Laura (IdoDeclaire)

At the beginning of September, Laura shared a floral dress and how she would transition it for fall in this post. The fuschia and pink colors in her dress made me think of this thrifted dress of mine and her liquid leather jacket from Clara Sunwoo made me think of my thrifted blazer. So that is how this outfit was born! I didn’t really think about how both pieces were thrifted until I wrote this post. That is the beauty of buying versatile pieces and of taking notes when you see someone wear a combo that looks fun. I quite often take screen shots of an outfit while browsing my…
