Allattoona Lake Hike and Motherhood
Last week was a week! I have been struggling on the motherhood train lately for no particular reason. The children aren’t really behaving any differently than usual, squabbles are not more frequent nor am I really been woken up more than usual by the toddler. I just have been feeling blah. I haven’t been very productive around the house, just doing the necessary things such as laundry and vaccuming and of course feeding the troops. Why is it hard for children to realize they should be grateful their parents take them on outings, hikes and vacations? This past Saturday, we all enjoyed a pretty hike and a picnic. However to…

Favorite September Looks (Part 1)
As we reach the end of the month, I like to look back at what I wore! My blog is my space for sharing what I wear as a stay at home mom. a place where I try to be creative as well as share my travels and tips about life, organization and mommyhood. I feel like I am getting better with feeling content with what I have and more specific with what I would like to add to my closet. I am about 40 days into my no shopping for clothes and am loving the outfits I have created this month. One of my friends (and neighbor) gave be…

Fall Decor 2020
I like to share my seasonal decor even though it is not grandiose or very exciting. As far as decor goes, I really am more of a minimalist as clutter just annoys me. I did add a couple of things to my decor this year with the plaid carpet for the front porch door mat and the felt pumpkins in my tiered tray. Fall is one of my favorite seasons as the weather makes hiking and outdoor activities more fun and I love having breakfast or any other meals on my back porch. So without further ado, here is my fall decor. I bought the letter board a year ago…

Apple Picking and Inspired by Aquamarina Style
What a fun Saturday outing! It had been a several years since we had been apple picking and since the weather was perfectly overcast with a high of 72, I suggested going up to Ellijay, GA to go apple picking and have a picnic. We originally thought of visiting a new to us orchard (BJ Reece) however when we go there, we saw that it was incredibly crowded with their large parking lot full and traffic backing up some on the road. So we made the quick decision to go 3-4 miles down the road to R&A Orchard where we had been several times. Since I had planned to copy…

Summer Dress over Leggings: Make your Clothes Work for You
Since my friend offered to take pictures for me in the Marietta square last week, I decided to share one last summer look which I think can work with many fall tunics that you feel are too short. This beautiful green dress has rarely seen the light of day because it is a little bit on the short side and with the off the shoulder sleeves not practical for many occasions. I bought this about 3 years ago at Target because I loved the color and embroidery. It has stayed in my closet for the same reason but I only probably wear it twice a year. I wore it for…

Douceur de France: A Taste of France in Marietta, GA
To celebrate our September birthdays, my friend and I decided to have lunch at Douceur de France in Marietta, GA. There is a sister store in Roswell,GA which I have frequented more but this location is now closer to me. I have been several times for breakfast treats and lunch too and have some favorites. Some of the breakfast pastries compare to ones in France and others I pass on as not to be disappointed. My favorite is the pain aux raisins which is always nice and moist (it is a spiral flaky pastry with raisins) and compare to ones in France. As far as lunch, I chose my favorite,…

Inspired by Last Seen Wearing: Shopping my closet
Any time I see someone wearing something cute there is that pull of “oh that is so cute, maybe I should get it”. There is also that smart voice in my head saying that I do not need anything else. I shopped well this year and am ready for fall and winter! As we enter fall and approach the end of the year, that means several things for us as far as where money will be spent: a couple of vacations, birthdays, anniversary and also Christmas. Do I need anything in my closet at this point? NO! So my goal is to find inspiration from others and also from myself…

Happy Birthday to Me! Shopping other’s closets!
Happy 45th birthday to me! For my birthday this year, I decided to shop some fellow bloggers’ closets/shops for my last shopping hurrah and birthday presents to myself (this was in August). I decided to choose things a little outside of my comfort zone and fill in a couple empty spots in my closet. I first stopped by Michelle’s My Bijou Life’s etsy shop. I chose a purple and silver necklace large statement necklace. I also bought 3 tops from Andrea’s (of Living on Cloud Nine) Instagram closet sale. The tops were peplum style which I had never tried and the one featured today is a pretty Free People boho…

Transitioning a Summer Dress for Fall: Thursday Moda with Ada
Thanks again to Ada for asking me to join her with her Thursday Moda Link up! Today we are sharing how we would transition a summer dress for fall! Being able to wear your clothes for more than one season of the year gives you more bang for your buck and gives you opportunities to be creative with your clothes . One simple way to do that is to change accessories and add layers. Today I am sharing two dresses and how I would wear them in the fall. Now we took these pictures on a nice humid and hot afternoon (it was in the 90s) so excuse my hair!…
