Bright Pink and Purple: Outfit Inspiration

I had a little fun thrifting outing a couple weeks ago, and even though I had a little list in mind, I didn’t find any of those items. However, a few bright sweaters jumped at me, and after trying them out, 3 came home with me. All of them were in the pink/purple family, so I decided to share them here with  a little outfit inspiration. Monochrome Purple I couldn’t believe how perfect the color match was with my purple blazer and my dress (as well as my leather earrings), so this is where these two outfits came in. I wore one on grocery day and the other for church.…

Navy Combinations for a Mild Winter

Are you tired of seeing pink and reds this month? Today I am sharing some inspiration with navy that can have you looking at your closet with fresh eyes. Navy is a neutral that pairs well with many colors. While you can pair it with another neutral (like the polka dot dress at the end of the post), it is really fun to pair it with bright colors. These are like a ray of sunshine on a winter day. I’ve been thinking that having a pair of navy boots would be really fun in the winter, but since I don’t, I wore different shoes I already have. Navy and Yellow…

What to Style with Pink Shoes?

When I asked for blog ideas for February, one of my most loyal followers on Instagram asked me to share ideas of what to style with pink shoes or how to blend pinks. I loved the ideas as I have 3 pairs of pink shoes in my closet and I love to wear them year round. The following ideas can be shopped from your closet as I am sharing some general ideas on how to blend pinks. First of all, I want to remind you that while you can can match pinks, you can create some fun color contrasts as well as pair pinks with prints and neutrals. Everyone can…

Styling a Heart Scarf for Valentine’s and Beyond

I do not wear holiday theme pieces much unless it is a subtle nod to that holiday, whether by a classy design or by a color scheme. However, this fun and cozy scarf from Valerie’s Avenue is a great scarf for all winter long, and today, I am sharing 4 ways you can wear it. The possibilities are endless. Don’t think too much about my exact items (most are thrifted), but more of the combination and style of the pieces. This scarf also come in red and cream and in a multi color striped pattern. I met up with Yenni at a nearby French bakery for some treats and photos…

Dark Floral Dress: Styling it for Winter

A year and a half ago, I was influenced by Jodie to buy this fun magic dress because of the unique dark bold floral and the special sleeves that can create a different dress without adding anything to it. If you would like to see the dress as a strapless dress, a cap sleeve dress or a wrap sleeve dress, check out this post from 2024. I also wore it layered with a sweater for church early 2025 here  but I hadn’t worn it since. So I was very glad when Jodie reached out suggesting we collaborate on a post showing how to style a floral dress for winter. Since…

    Sequin Skirt for Winter

You already know I love to add new (mostly thrifted) things to my closet, but then I want to make sure I wear those new pieces several times for at least a couple seasons of the year. I bought this skirt new this fall, and styled for fall here, but knew I wanted to wear it some more. These are some outfits I wore in December. Brown and Grey I wore this one Sunday and wanted something simple to pair with it, so I pull some grey pieces and voila, a simple Sunday outfit with a little sparkle. Brown and White Christmas Eve outfit felt like it had a little…

    Tulle Skirts for Winter

Tulle skirts have become part of my trademark outfits and I have shared them many times on the blog. I love the ethereal vibe and femininity of a tulle skirt. Tulle Dress for Winter

Yes, it’s time to style some tulle for winter! Some of my favorite pieces in my closet this year have been my tulle skirts and this tulle dress which I wore for my 50th birthday which I also styled for fall (here and here). After wearing it then, I knew I wanted to show you some ways a dress like this (or a skirt), could be worn in winter. Of course, if it was really cold, I would add a nice warm scarf and maybe a hat to these outfits. I hope you enjoy these and find some inspiration to have fun getting dressed this winter season! Layer a Sweater…

Sequin Skirt: 3 Ways to Wear

When the right skirt comes along, you get inspired and find all kinds of ways to wear it. Your clothes should inspire you and not make you feel like you “need to” wear them. I shared a sequin skirt I returned earlier this month because I did not like the shape of it, and I felt it look cheap with the large paillettes versus some small sequins. Today I am sharing 3 ways I came up with (with some Pinterest inspiration) and I wore the first one to church a couple weeks ago. I look forward to wearing it all winter long too. Sequin Skirt: Casual Style The first thing…

    Zebra Blazer: 3 Ways

At some point this summer, I took one of my friends thrifting in my town. We first visited my favorite thrift store and then before heading to my house for lunch, we stopped by the little community thrift store downtown which sells clothes for $1, $2 and $3. Pants, shorts, skirts and tops are $1 while bulkier items like vests, blazers and jackets are $2 and $3. I wasn’t planning to buy anything, but the print of this jacket caught my eye and I couldn’t pass it up. It’s a thicker material, more jacket-like than blazer-like, but I will be wearing it the same ways I would style a blazer,…
