July outfits
These are my July looks that I documented. Several of the items are new purchases this month too.
JCrew skirt
I have eyed this striped JCrew skirt for a while and did not purchase it last time it was on sale so when Audrey from Putting me Together posted it was on sale again I jumped on it. It looks like it is now only available in red stripe in size XS and S. I wear it in size S. I have also worn it with a white Tee and may do a remix post with it at some point. I think it would be cute with a graphic tee or a bright color.
Hiking look #1
When I hike I either wear my hiking boots or my Keens. Since we were staying next to river, I wore my Keens because I can wear them in the water too. My denim Target shorts and an old brown top were comfortable for this easy hike. I always wear a hat of some sort when outdoors in the summer for a long period of time. This one is from Amazon.
New striped top
It is so hard to pass up a striped top! I had a fun time on my own at Ross Dress for Less on evening this month! A little retail therapy on a budget without any children tagging along was fun! I love the flutter sleeve on this one as well as the tie knot. I only wore it once this month so I sure need to pull it out again! I am wearing with my Target shorts that were a new buy in June.
Tee over maxi dress
I have worn this cute heart tee at least 3 times since I bought it. That and the dress were purchased on the same shopping trip as the striped blouse above. The dress is sleeveless and I haven’t worn it on its own yet. I love the yellow and blue combo and know it will be nice in the fall with my denim jacket as well as my white denim or dark blue jacket too! Always make sure you can think of several ways or occasions to wear an item when you buy it: more bang for your buck!
Wide legged pants
This was my last buy from Ross and oh, how comfortable are these pants! Since they are so long I have to wear them with wedges. They are high waisted with an elastic waist. I have also worn them with the above plain blue tee and plan to try it with other tops from my closet.
Graphic tee and khaki skirt
Just a simple combo: thrifted khaki cargo skirt with my favorite tshirt. I bought these Madewell sandals this Spring and my cost per wear is getting lower by the week since I have worn them 2 to 3 times a week since I bought them. They are actually on sale now for $39.99 and if I hadn’t decided to cut my clothing allowance/spending I would get them in black!
Olive Joggers
These JCpenney joggers (out of stock) were such a good buy this spring too! I wanted to wear pants on this particular day but didn’t want to burn up so I combined them with a black tank and sandals. Added a little interest with a white pendants and my lovely French straw basket.
Date night
I rewarded myself with this dress 2 years ago when I was expecting my youngest. I wore it for a beach family picture then. I was 8 months along!
All white with denim vest
I experimented with this outfit hesitating between a chambray shirt and this vest. The vest won out! I got this on Thredup two summers ago and should find more ways to wear it!
Zoo Atlanta
I have two pairs of patterns shorts from Old Navy. They are several years old and still have kept their color. I typically wear them with black or white shirts but I think I may change it up with a striped shirt next week! Perfect outfit for a warm day except for the mosquitoes!
Hiking #2
These Land End hiking boots were handing down to me from my husband’s aunt who passed away some years ago. I think of her each time I wear them. I really need to invest in some working out shorts since I really was way to warm and soaked through with these shorts on this hike. Once again I am wearing my Nickel and Suede tee because I just love the fit and cut of this shirt!
Blue tunic
This tunic was featured on my thrifted chic challenge outfit post. Love the color, hate my squinting eyes!
Amazon black jumpsuit
I wore this twice this month. Once with colorful accessories and once with white accessorries. It is the comfiest of jumpsuits, like wearing pajamas! Here is the post dedicated to it!
Grey stripe maxi skirt
I need to wear my skirts more often especially my maxi ones. I love how I tied my cocoon cardigan to give it more shape. This was a very comfortable outfit and cool enough for our heat here.
Modcloth skirt for market day
I dedicate a full post to this Modcloth skirt because it is so good! Here is the post!
A bientôt!

That heart tee is adorable. I want one like that since our anniversary is on Valentines day.
And the color of that turquoise dress that you wore when you were pregnant is absolutely stunning on your Mireille!

I really like the tee a lot too. It is gathered at the side which is a nice detail.

Hi Mirielle!
Lots of great casual looks! I love that you enjoy hiking too! I used to hike more , before EDS, but can do smaller bits at a time. We live pretty close to the mountains. LOve the cobalt blue tunic on you, great color! The dress is lovely as well. I love the color on you and the style is relaxed chic!

Thank you! I am trying to get better at wearing what I have in my closet. This week I will wear tops that I haven’t featured on the blog or instagram in an effort to see whether they stay or go and in hoping to help me more thrifty! I am glad you live close to the mountains: while you may not be able to hike as much as you used to, you can still enjoy the beauty of them. Just like with water, I find the sight of the moutnains peaceful!

Hi Mirielle,
Thank you for sharing your combinations – your style is great!
I rarely have pictures of myself wearing my clothes, although there are a few vintage pieces I own that I might shoot and have them as memory both for me and my kids.

Thanks, Maya! I have been trying to get pictures regularly. It also helps me realize that I do not need to buy new clothes. It helps me create new combinations and outfits!
