Walk in Alys Beach

When we visit the Beaches of South Walton along 30A, one of the towns I love to stroll in is Alys Beach. Alys Beach is a luxury beach resort community. The architecture was inspired by the white traditional homes of Bermuda and you are just in awe of how beautiful these pristine white structures are when you walk around. Most homes have a courtyard with a pool or a fountain and building follows rigurous guidelines to keep the uniformity of the community.

I couldn’t help myself and took picture after picture. The day was kind of hazy and foggy so there was no contrasting blue sky but that didn’t take away from the beauty of the architecture.

While similar, each home is different, some with trees in front, others with bushes (we really enjoy the rosemary bushes) or large planters.

Shutters add even more charm to these homes. This was a perfect activity during covid times: people didn’t congregate in these areas since there were no shops back here, so we could walk without worries of encountering a crowd.

Just gorgeous isn’t it! Beautiful geometric lines and details.

This gigantic stone bench was pretty fun! You could sit more than one family on it!

We sure can’t afford to stay in this community but just walking around is fun!

The boys had a hard time believing that this shell could be real! It was a reminder of how big creatures get deep in the ocean.

The last time we visited this community was probably about 4 to 5 years ago so it was very interesting to see how much it had grown (and they are still building) and we did not remember this canal from our past visit.

Finding free activities like this is always nice on a vacation. You don’t always have to spend money to have fun!

I already shared this outfit in an earlier post and I glad to say that my Adidas now look much better with clean new laces and a little scrubbing with a magic eraser!

This row of smaller condos was also newly built in the last few years. Kind of reminds me of row houses.

Roasted marshmallows anyone? I know this is an overload of pictures but it was just all so pretty and idyllic!

I will leave you with one of the four “sentry” buildings at the beginning of the town.

If you are ever in the area, it is worth the drive to stroll around. Scenic 30A is between Panama City Beach and Destin.

A bientôt!

Had to leave you with a little cuteness! My youngest thought the decorative presents next to the Christmas tree were real and tried to open them!
