Fab 40s: Inspired by Air

This month, the Fab 40s are sharing outfits inspired by air. I knew right away what I wanted to wear so I convinced my son to take pictures for me the same week I became part of the group. I also knew where I wanted to take my pictures, so on a Saturday morning at 9 am before it got too hot, we headed to the Indian Mounds to take my pictures.

I borrowed my friend’s pants for the week as she was going out of town because their shape make me think of floating in air. I actually am on a mission to find a pair (these are Bcik Bcik Honolulu pants) because I love the shape. They are more fitted at the waist and thighs so they do not add too much bulk there.

I usually do not pair a loose fitting top with loose fitting bottoms but I thought the blouse gave the outfit the right vibe. I could just float away! This Amazon high low blouse is really cute (I also have it in light pink) and I bought both when they were on sale for $10. I think they are great for a date night. The one linked is the same as mine but sold by another vendor. It is slightly see through in white and since I knew I was going to twirl around, I added a white tank underneath.

No shoes! I told my son, I kind of felt like a flower child from the 70s in this outfit twirling at the top of the largest mound. Nothing like taking pictures and knowing visitors can see you. At least at 9 am there was only 2 other people.

I was actually hoping for an overcast day but no, it was beautiful without a cloud in the sky so we do have some of my son’s shadows in the pictures! We are amateur photorgraphers!

This picture was taken near the edge at the top of the mound. You don’t realize how high you are in this picture. It is 67 feet tall. I wore some silver accessories which I do not wear often enough.

I love these types of themes where we can all be creative and decide how we are going to interpret in this case one word: AIR.

In this picture you can really see how dramatic the top is. I wonder how it would look with a pencil skirt. I tried it on with shorts and jeans and it looks striking with both.

And now onto the other Fab 40s ladies!

Ada from Elegance and Mommyhood

Ada looks absolutely adorable in this black babydoll dress. I love all of these black accessories!

Suzy from The Grey Brunette

Envious of these pants! Wow! What a statement piece!

Shelbee from Shelbee on the edge

The colors in Shelbee’s give me all of the airy feels making me thinking of the wind and the clouds.

Daenel from Living Outside the Stacks

Each time I see one of Daenel’s photographs, I want to learn more about photography.

Her boho style is so pretty and I love the airiness of this dress and kimono.

A bientĂ´t!
