What to Wear to Visit a Winery

I will answer that that question right away: whatever you want! I have seen people wear very casual clothes to some being more dressed up as they celebrate an anniversary, a bridemaid luncheon or a date. Of course, I took the opportunity of this outing to put together a fall outfit and while I wasn’t sure if I would take blog outfit pictures, my 2 boys were more than eager to help out by earning a little money!

Can I first tell you how much I love this newish kimono of mine? I shared it a couple of weeks in this post and bought it with a birthday giftcard from my brother. I reach for more neutral colors in the fall so I think I will look for another one soon: it’s a perfect layer for when it is just a little bit cool but not cold.

Another thing I am loving is this high neck tank from Target: guess I will need to pick it up in other colors: not need to readjust the neck line, it is fitted but not too tight (wearing it in medium) and only $8. I have been wearing it once or twice a week.

My combat boots are last year’s (I did indulge in a cream pair this year that I will have to share) and I love that I can pair them with skirts too to give a look an edge. I realize the extent of my love for shoes when I showed my son how many boots and booties I had. I feel a blog post coming on similar to Gail from Is this Mutton (here). But at least I wear them all until they fall apart so I consider them good buys!

The weather was perfect for an outing (a few degrees cooler would have been nice) as it was overcast and less than 80). The boys and I took a walk down the road the winery is on and I kind of wished that we could walk through the vineyards. I understand though that people walking around would probably damage the vines and then I am sure there would be the folks who would decide they could taste the grapes.

The winery is named the fainting goat because after a long hard day working in the vines, the owners felt like fainting! There are 4 goats on the property and 2 Pyrenees dogs. The winery is dog and family friendly. There is also live music, wine tasting and several spots to eat and drink a glass of wine. You can see a little more of the property in last Wednesday’s post here.

It is located near Jasper and about one hour from where we live. I would like to discover a few other wineries nearby but I think the views here will be hard to beat.

As I mentioned in last Wednesday’s post, there was plenty of space for the boys to play. My youngest made some friends and enjoyed playing with them as well as looking at the goats. The other two walked around and pretended to be goats!

One my end, I actually enjoyed being a little unsocial and spent most of time time sitting right there looking at the view and enjoying some me time with my family nearby. Sometimes I do not feel like talking and just want to enjoy moments to myself. This was the case on this beautiful fall day.

A bientôt!
