Favorite Fall OOTD: November and December (part 1)
As I write this post and it is only mid December, I am thinking this might be a two part post. I love the change of season as it feels like my wardrobe is new, I have forgotten about some of my clothes and with it being a cooler season, there is an opportunity to wear different accessories such as hats, boots and scarves. Most of fall was dedicated to shopping from my closet and not buying any new clothes so I made sure to plan what I was going to wear because it helps me realize the variety I already possess in my closet. Today I will concentrate on layers and pants while next week’s post will focus on dresses and skirts.
I finally got a good picture with this fun sweatshirt denim hoodie! I found it in the junior’s departement at Gabes at the end of summer and I like how soft it is. Gabes is a similar store to TJMaxx and Ross. I haven’t worn my Old Navy pants much lately and I need to pull them out again.
My goal for jeans this year was to add some different cuts to my closet and I have been surprised over and over at how much I like them. I picked these WHBM bootcut pair at my favorite consignment store after not shopping for 2 months. They are regular length and at 5’4″ I have to wear my taller boots and booties with them. We haven’t had too many scarf worthy days so I took advantage of a cooler day to add this old leopard one.
Most fall days have been like this: no layers needed! A little disappointing as I love my jackets and layers (always tempted to buy more even though we have way more warm days than cool days) but we do get cold weather in winter so I know I will wear them. The top was thrifted and is one of my few floral tops.
I like the ease of a sweater and pants: one and done on days you don’t want to fuss and so comfortable.
Another happy fall day: scarf time! I still have a couple infinity scarves (my favorite is my mustard one) but I typically have the long rectangular ones that can be worn all different ways. This is my one blanket scarf which I cut in two to reduce the bulk. The colors are perfect for so many outfits. The sweatshirt has a cool ribbed detail down the shoulder and sleeves but you can’t tell in this picture. I picked it up at the same time as the jeans.
I was discussing on instagram how certain pieces have a staying power in your closet year after year. This little sherpa lined cardigan has been one of those pieces. It’s 5 to 7 years old and I keep on wearing it year after year. Cozy and in a neutral color, no bottoms and a good length for me, it works with pants as well as skirts and dresses.
The scarf only made it for a couple of hours as the weather often increases by 30 degrees from morning school drop to midday! The top is another of my finds at the consigment store this month: a mix between a shirt, sweater and tunic. It is soft and fun: it has a button at the top that you cannot see with the scarf and is nice and lightweight.
Making this pair of Chico’s wide legged pants work year round! I am so glad I picked them up when they were are sale even though I wasn’t sure I would like them!
This outfit was loosely inspired by a reel from Lisa from Coast to Coast. Ended up really loving this one! The poncho has been another surprise for me: I reach for it quite a lot!
Oh, how I love my new Caite and Kyla shirt I found on Poshmark! I will keep my eyes out for more: I love some of their pieces but most of what I saw was not my style. This one is a winner as well as the following jacket that I have worn a lot since I received it. Ombre tie dye, a hood and beautiful embroidery! Love it!
Well, I will stop now for my outfits of the month! As you can see, I reallhy enjoyed the outfits I put together! I love fall!
A bientôt!

Thanks, Mariann, working on wearing all the things in my closet even with this weird weather.

Mireille, I love that Caite and Kyla top! I think their clothing is so pretty, but a little out of my comfort zone since I have no idea on sizing. I don’t shop online unless I’m completely sure of what I can wear. I think my favorite outfit is the plaid scarf with the stripe tee. It’s just so fall! Beautiful background as always! I can’t wait to see part 2!

Sizing seems to be true to size so far for me. I bought the shirt is XS and the jacket in S and they fit like those sizes would fit on me.
Lovely
These are all beautiful outfits! The leopard scarf and bootcut jeans look is my favorite.
