Cowboy boots Winter Outfit

I have been trying to wear my cowboy boots at least once every season if not more as they are really a cool pair of footwear. This outfit really is meant to showcase the new to me Kyla Seo plaid shirt that I found on Poshmark the first week in February but the boots complimented the outfit so well and are such a statement that I titled my post with them. If you would like to see how I have styled them on the blog before, there is a summer outfit with them and another older post here. But back to my new shirt: I bought it NWT and got a nice discount on it as I bundled it with another item from the vendor. I am not willing to pay full price for Caite and Kyla pieces so I have found Poshmark to be a good source with more affordable prices.

Caite and Kyla clothes are known for their beautiful embroidery and this shirt did not disappoint! The material is thicker than my other similar white plaid shirt which is a gauze material. The back panel here is velvet while the front is a nice thick cotton.

I really feel like my current purse lends itself to the style of clothing made by Caite and Kyla. You may have noticed it in Thursday’s post as well as other pictures. I have worn it everyday since I bought it in a local boutique a week before Christmas.

I paired the shirt with my black leggings and a long black tanks (both really need to be updated) to balance the volume of the shirt. I could also pull the colors from the shirt to create other outfits: mustard, burgundy, cream would all pair well as top or pants.

My mom gave me the leather feather earrings I am wearing: they are lightweight and a great neutral that pair well with everything. I didn’t realize my shirt had tabs with buttons so you can roll the sleeves up easily. What a great detail!

I am making sure that whatever I purchase this year is a thought out purchase. I know I will enjoy this shirt for years as the back details really set it apart. Having other outfit ideas insures that it will be worn again and again. I really want to reduce impulse buying and focus on 2nd hand shopping and to do that I must exercise self control while on social media. Our culture nowadays creates a pattern of consumerism and comparison and it is important for me to remember that this is all fleeting. Yes I can enjoy clothes and express myself with what I wear but when it comes down to it, it is just clothes.

A bientôt!
