Hilton Conference Center in Marietta, GA

We spent a night in Marietta for Pascha weekend since we knew liturgy would last well into the morning and there was a meal after. We took advantage of our hotel points (my husband still travels for work and stays at Hilton hotels) to book a couple rooms at the Hilton Conference Center which is just 2 minutes from church, the square in Marietta and my favorite French bakery, Douceur de France.

We don’t typically stay at the really nice hotels choosing budget friendly ones typically (but we did stay at the Waldorf Astoria in New Orleans once and the hotel in Spain was comparable to this one) so we were very impressed by the decor and grounds.

The decor in the entryway was very classy and the artwork in little nooks and corners was eclectic and pretty.

Prom was actually going on in one of the conference rooms as well as a family reunion. The hotel also boast a golf club. We choose to order from a restaurant on the square (Tsunami Taqueria) and eat outside instead of eating at the onsite restaurant since we were looking for vegan options.

The outdoor space was spacious and we enjoyed the pretty views of the golf course. Thankfully it was too hot (but warm enough that the boys enjoyed the pool earlier in the day when we checked in) so it was very peaceful and relaxing.

We walked a little around as well as in the morning but it was a little nerve racking since this is a golf course and balls to go flying around.

I took some blog pictures with my Express dress (here’s the post) and we tried not too be knocked down by a flying golf ball. I thought this area was really pretty and wished we could have walked around more. Maybe renting a golf cart and taking a ride around the course would be a good idea!

I enjoyed a pain au chocolat (chocolate croissant) from the French bakery and we were able to do a late checkout and enjoy our morning without hurry. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are visiting Marietta as it is in a great location and has beautiful views.

A bientôt!

Beautiful! Glad you took advantage of the opportunity. The frozen Trader Joe’s chocolate croissants have to be left out overnight and then baked and are actually really good but nothing compares to a real French bakery!

I haven’t tried Trader Joe’s but there isn’t a close location to me either. I’ve heard they are good!

That looks like a lovely hotel! Your breakfast looks delicious too. I love pain au chocolat.

The corporation my husband used to work for owned Sheraton hotels for a bit. We used to get tremendous discounts for our stays. We stayed at the Palace in San Francisco for a couple of nights as well as the marina in San Diego. We were there during the Republican convention and watched Pres. George Bush’s (the elder) yacht come in! Unfortunately, the corporation sold the Sheraton branch, and those discounts disappeared! Your photos make me wish he was still working and traveling! We had many wonderful vacations using his points! And, the pain au chocolat looks scrumptious!

It is pretty neat when we get to stay at the nicer hotels. I am burned out on the regular ones because with 4 kids, I typically end up in a room with 3 of them and hubby and oldest in another.

We love these kinds of hotels although we tend to try to book at local boutique ones. I swear I can get just as much inspiration for my decor and interior design from these hotels as I do from Pinterest.

That is what I am hoping to do on our anniversary trip since we don’t need as much space.

I shall miss all my business travels Mireille, I was lucky to visit many parts of the US and other countries. Hilton was always my favourite, particularly the Hiltons in Gdansk, Poland and Munich. This one looks very stylish. You can’t beat their beds usually! Thanks for linking

Oh, the Hiltons in those places sound nice. We were thinking next trip to the Republic of Georgia to stay in one by the Black Sea but who knows when we will make that trip happen.
