7 days of Dresses: 2nd Winter Edition
As spring nears, I become bored with wearing jeans and sweaters and get excited once again to wear dresses. Our weather in Georgia has mostly been mild this winter but I haven’t worn dresses that very often. So I decided to wear dresses for a week once again as I had in this post earlier this winter and here are the outfits I enjoyed wearing this go around. Once again, I am sharing some friends who joined in, of course including Jodie once again more as well as Cathie, Grace and Debi.
Spring/Summer Dresses
My favorite dresses are probably my maxi dresses. Both of these are thrifted and I really do think they might just be my favorites at the moment. The first one is a recent buy and I will show it in more detail on Monday without a topper. But on this one Sunday, it was nice to winterize it with an old fun cardigan and some booties.
This colors in the next dress are brighter and I pulled the mustard and pink with my earrings and sweater. I added a belt to tuck the sweater up to create better proportions.
Debi from a A Beautiful Second Act created an outfit with similar vibes and I really like all of the tan accents. I love the print of that dress!
Adding layers over and Under
I wore this outfit on a cool Saturday and since it was a little cold and since this dress is shorter, I added my navy leggings and a tank and a jacket. I really liked wearing this dress again.
Brights for Winter
Living in different states, we all wear different things because our weather is very different. I absolutely love this gorgeous dress that Cathie is wearing! If you are not following her on IG, here is her profile!
My mustard dress might not be the brightest but I feel like the color is appropriate year round and can be adapted to each season. I thrifted the belt recently with this dress in mind and my shoes are also a thrift find but from a year or so ago.
The dress below was definitely a spring like dress for a day as warm as spring. A great clearance find at TJmaxx for $8 paired with items from my closet. February was a good month for not spending any money but giftcards/gift money and money earned. I have found that I can get a $5 giftcard for TJmaxx for every 4800 points earned on the Fetch grocery app which is much better than getting a $3.00 gift card to Amazon for 3500 points.
Grace from Graceful Rags wore a cute dress with a great royal blue jacket despite some colder weather in Denver.
Winter Dresses
I was actually too hot in my plaid dress by afternoon but I really want to wear this dress one more time. I have found so many ways to wear it, over jeans, as a jacket, with different shoes.. It is so versatile! Here it is with cowboy boots.
My mom gave me the dress below, I thrifted my Caite and Kyla shirt from Poshmark a couple years ago and my booties are from Target a few seasons ago. Put them all together and you have a mild winter look that looks pretty coming and going! I used a belt to tuck the shirt in and keep it in place.
I had so much fun wearing and sharing my dresses 7 days in a row! I have found that coming up with some themes for myself helps me creative, keeps me from wanting to shop and helps me wear all the things. After this, I wore blazers for a few days followed by a week of skirts!
And talking about fun, isn’t this cute outfit of Jodie fun? She pulled up the dress to create better proportions and this teal mix printing is on point!
A bientôt!

So many fun looks for styling dresses in winter! I really need to invest in some plain leggings (not the athletic ones with side pockets I always wear with seams everywhere) for wearing under dresses. I just might be able to get way with wearing dresses if I did that!

It’s so practical to wear them that way!
Nancy
Fabulous dresses. And beautiful colours. Can’t wait to wear mine with sandals again!

I don’t have very many dresses, in part because they don’t seem as versatile as other pieces…but your great styling examples here belie that. I like every single outfit but the rusty brown with navy is the standout in my eyes – I absolutely love it. Navy is so wonderful with warm brown tones, and your layering with the navy top + tights and navy jacket/coat giving that subtle print mix…it hits all the buttons for me! I don’t have a dress that color but it’s giving me ideas for a navy floral print dress, so I’m pinning it!

You definitely can do more with them once you think a little outside the box!

So many cute looks! I can’t wait to start styling dresses again. It’s been freezing in CA for the past few weeks with so much rain – I miss the sun and maxi dresses!

I’m following a woman on IG that has ONLY been wearing dresses since coVid, and she talks about how they can be just as warm and just as fabulous.
Don’t get me wrong, I love variety, but it’s always amazing to me that more women don’t wear dresses more.
XOXO

That mustard dress is gorgeous! I have so many dresses and need to start wearing them. I’m not good at figuring out how to make a summer dress look right in winter…maybe because our winters are so cold and really wintery! But, I love all of your looks, Mireille!

I really want to summerize the mustard one, it really gives me winter/fall vibes. Think a white or woven belt with very bright accessories…

It is hard to pick just one. I love all the dresses you shared but the jacket over the dress in the first photo is just gorgeous. And I love the mustard colour one also. These were lovely inspirations that you shared.
Have a great weekend.

I have a nice collection of dresses now and some of these are about to be put to the back of the closet like the blue maxi and the plaid one. Time to let the spring ones shine!

Mica Away From The Blue
I really love that little rust dress with the navy! I think you wear it really well, you do with all of these dresses though! I do try winterise my dresses so I can wear them year-round, but I’m lucky it doesn’t get too cold or even snow here so I find it easy to wear dresses year-round with a couple extra layers if needed.
Thank you for joining the Weekday Wear Link up!

I really should have worn it more this fall/winter: I will next year.
