Stripes for Spring with the Ageless Style Link Up
I love stripes and have multiple striped tops in my closet, so when Joanne suggested stripes for our April Ageless Style post, it was a matter of choosing which top I wanted to highlight. This is probably my oldest striped top in my closet and if I look closely at it, it is starting to show signs of wear and it is pilling some. However the stripe is thinner and the back has a pretty scoop, so I have not been able to part with it yet. But after washing it once more, it was time: this is its swan song! I remember wearing it in France in 2019 and it was already a couple of years old then!
I actually wore this exact outfit at some point in the last few years, but I couldn’t find the picture I took I like the simple print mixing and my thrifted skirt might be as old as the top. I love a stretchy pencil style skirt!
Spring has me wearing sneakers several times a week: anytime you want to make a look appear more modern, just chose a fashion sneakers to wear! In the background, you can see my bird feeders: it took me several months, but I am finally keeping them filled. There have been times in the past when I have counted more than a dozen kind of birds eating within a hour time span.
I have been taking more pictures around my house lately, I think we are so much busier that it’s easiest to take pictures right there and then. We took these just before I dropped my son to middle school. I was afraid it would be raining in the afternoon and I knew that if it didn’t, I would have another set of blog pictures to take.
I don’t have a lot of spring decor, just a few touches here and there. This sign was from Aldi and I switch it to the other side when it starts really warming up. The other side has a hive and bees. I keep the same doormat year round, but I would like to change the checkered one for something else. Any ideas for a stylish pattern that would work the warm months behind the home sweet home one.
Skirts really can be very comfortable especially if you pair them with comfortable shoes. I probably like them better than shorts and should wear them more often (therefore my 7 days of skirts spring edition challenge and blog post this month).
Spring means I start wearing bracelets more than necklaces. I favor these bead ones because the neutral colors pair with everything. The earrings from Old Navy have been on repeat too.
Hope you enjoyed this striped outfit! Check out the rest of the ladies from the Ageless Style Link Up for more inspiration.

That is a fabulous outfit and I can see why you kept that shirt for so long. I love the back scoop detail and the thinner stripes.

It was pretty cool, but now it’s gone!

Thank you! I really like your pants and outfit too!

You look lovely in that outfit – nice top and the skirt goes well with it. It’s not quite sneakers weather but almost as we’ve just had a lovely sunny day!

It was fun to put the outfit together: I really think I had worn this exact combination before but could not find a picture.

It’s always so sad when a favorite top has to go.
It’s such a good option for print mixing and I love the outfit!

I really like this striped top with the paisley skirt. It’s such a good combination. Since stripes are having a big moment right now, you should be able to replace this one fairly easily. I have a couple of long sleeved striped tees that have seen better days, but I wear them as undershirts so it’s Ok if they’re not looking too good!

Yes, the back is one of the reasons I didn’t want to part with it.

Your home is lovely. I love the brick so much and it makes a beautiful backdrop for your photos. Although I don’t have a lot of striped shirts, I always have one in my drawers because they are such a staple. I love how this one goes low in the back, such a great look. Like you, I am grabbing for my sneakers more frequently these days, and I can’t wait for this last snow to melt away and everything dries up. Have a great weekend!

The front of the house has been my go to lately for pictures.

It’s a shame that top is leaving your wardrobe as it still looks really good on you! Always good to let things go when they no longer work for you though. I like it with the print mixing in the skirt also. I often print mix with stripes, they seem to go with anything! 🙂

I have several other tops, not as cute as this one, but it was time!

I love pattern mixing!! And stripes are so agreeable to being paired with different prints. The back on that tee is divine…surely kicks it to a new level. Love the muted pastel colors of your outfit and accessories. I have subbed for a second grade for a week now. Sooooo, glad I am off tomorrow. Decided to switch from wearing flats and low heels to white tennis shoes. My feet have thanked me everyday.
Thinking a polka dot print would be cute at your door. Surprised your grass is still brown. Hope everything greens up in the next week.

Stripes are perfect for print mixing. Grass is Bermuda so it is brown in winter!
