Week of Outfits: Last Week of August

I really enjoy Jodie’s (Jtouchofstyle) weekly outfit share on Saturdays because it is real life and often gives me some inspiration for outfits of my own. This week’s outfits are very varied once again and several were inspired by some of the IG ladies I follow. They inspired to put together outfits from my closet that I hadn’t thought of paired together before. But first came my weekend outfits which usually is two a day since we go to church both Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Saturday

My 6 year old learned how to ride his bike last week, so today was a little try out for a longer ride (I am hoping to go to the Silver Comet trail with the kids – we usually bike 15 to 25 miles there). We rode for 6 miles and apart from wiping out and skinning his knees, he did great. My kids are not used to hurting themselves, so he was a little dramatic, but once he calmed down, he did great for the last 2 miles of the ride. I didn’t feel like wearing athletic wear so I paired my thrifted with a simple tank.

I wore my sari skirt as a loose dress and paired it with my v-neck Halftee (MIREILLE20 for 20% off) and a pair of Columbia sandals I bought on Poshmark. A little confusion with that order since it took 2 weeks for me to get it and tracking wasn’t showing so my money was refunded. I am waiting to get a new bill as I am writing this post.

Sunday

That first outfit was my church outfit: both my teen and my husband said I looked like a medieval gal. I paired my Somerset from Anthropologie with my lace Halftee (one of my favorites!). Remember that post on splurges mid month: this dress was definitely more even on sale. You can see it much in this picture but there’s silver thread throughout: very pretty (better pictures here! My second outfit of the day was my thrifted skort: I was able to ride a couple miles and play pickleball in the street in this outfit.

Monday

Now for some “inspired by” outfits. Cathie inspired this outfit: I did take off the vest in the afternoon when it got to 95 degrees!

Tuesday

I hadn’t paired a striped top yet with my overalls, so I enjoyed this one.

Wednesday

Jacqui from Mummabstylish inspired this outfit: I don’t wear this leopard skirt much anymore, but I still do like it a lot.

Thursday

My mom gave me this Chinese jacket a year or so, so I thought it would be nice to wear it to visit her. Probably my favorite look this week!

Friday

 

Jodie inspired this color combo: I had a few items that were pink or orange, but the bright and color infused hues of these two pieces were the ones I like the best together. It made me think of a colorful popsicle!
