How to Transition Summer to Fall with the Ageless Style Link Up
How can you transition your outfit from summer to fall without just adding the usual denim or moto jacket? I thought I would show you how to put together a fall outfit using both summer and fall pieces. The fun thing about this outfit is that the key pieces are thrifted: the jeans, the top and the clutch were all thrift finds. Be sure to check all of the Ageless Style ladies outfits too for more inspiration!
If you follow me on Instagram, you have seen these jeans a few times since I bought them in April in Arizona. I usually do not try jeans in thrift stores because the racks usually feel overwhelming to me, but these just jumped out at me. I tried them over the leggings I was wearing and lo and behold they fit perfectly. I love the boho embroidered detail on them. The brown tones in the embroidery definitely spell fall to me.
Next came this top which I thrifted in Chattanooga this summer. There is something so fun about thrifting with friends. Apart from getting their opinion, it also usually means thrifting in a new spot. Even though this top is cropped, and I don’t wear my cropped tops very often, I just couldn’t pass it up! Those crochet sleeves are so fun! They also keep this top cool enough to wear on a normal fall day. More than likely, I’ll wear it with higher waisted pants most of the time, but I thought they were a great combo with my jeans.
You can hold on to summer with your choice of shoe: I wear sandals till the end of October usually starting to wear more sneakers then before switching over to my booties. Another way to showcase that summer is not gone all of the way is with a fun purse would it be a tote or a clutch.
Wouldn’t a turquoise purse look pretty with this top? I tend to wear my neutral purses the most, but turquoise being a favorite of mine, I should keep that in mind, especially if I can find one with a fun texture.
I am so glad that I have a very varied collection of necklaces and earrings. While I do not have a ton of necklaces, I have been adding some here and there like this beaded double strand necklace. The pendant was a hand me down from my aunt and I really love the texture of the wood with the rose.
I hope I gave you a different way as to how you can transition your outfits between summer and fall. Another way for me is to wear a light sweatshirt with shorts or to wear lightweight clothes, but in a fall color.

That is a fabulous transition outfit! I love the detail on the jeans. I too tend to wear my sandals for as long as I can (usually sometime in October or even Novemeber if I can stand it!).

I have several pairs of sandals that stay out all year, just in case!

That’s such a sweet outfit, which would probably be a summer outfit in the UK. We often have 4 seasons in 4 days. A good example is that when we came back from our cruise last week it was really cold but one week later and we’re having above averge temperatues, which won’t last of course – on Sunday there is a downpour!
Love the top and the detail on the jeans is great.

It was hot when I took these pictures! Very hot, since it was July I think!

I really like the clog style and should find a pair of clothes toe shoes like this!

Congrats on finding such great pieces at a thrift store. I never have much luck. I love that top! That’s a keeper!

Yes! It was almost ruined in the wash (next to a red dress) but the pink came out!

I am always so inspired by your thrifty lifestyle. Although, I don’t go to thrift stores, I do but a lot of items locally on market place and get hand me downs from my sisters closet. It’s a good mix of used and new here and there when I find something I love or identified as need. I love everything about this outfit, but especially that crochet top. I’ve been dreaming of a top like this!!!!! Gorgeous. I can see you enjoying fall festivals in this outfit.

Those jeans have definitely been a fabulous find Mireille. I think the cropped top is perfect especially with all of the flowier pants now.

I am so glad I tried them over the leggings because otherwise I wouldn’t have known they would fit me perfectly!

I love your pretty top! The crochet detail is fabulous. I tried a crochet top from amazon this summer, but it was too cropped for me so my daughter got it. Love the chunky sandals with it too. Fabulous boho vibe!

Oh, I didn’t even think about combining summer with fall (though I guess that’s what I did, but not intentionally). I love the embroidered details on the jeans. Such a cool outfit, Mireille!

Such a creative way to transition from summer to fall! I love how you combined thrifted finds with seasonal pieces to create a fresh look. The embroidered jeans and crochet sleeves are perfect for that summer-to-fall vibe, and pairing them with fun accessories like a turquoise purse would be amazing. Thanks for the inspiration!
Read my new blog post. Thank you and happy weekend.

What a great look for the new season. I am finally starting to transition into my autumn wardrobe. I love those sleeves, it reminds me of a vintage cardigan my mum gave me. /Madison

I am seeing similar crocheted pieces in all the stores. Today, I saw a crocheted vest that looked just like the sleeves of this darling top. Your jeans are really special, too. I love embroidery, like you. That little floral band makes your jeans so special. Just cannot believe tht you found all of this at a thrift shop. Love the upclose picture of your shoes. Your photographer has been doing such a good job showcasing your cute OOTD and your personality!!

Thanks, Leslie! I love finding new fun things!
