Impractical, but Oh so Fun: Boho Whimsical Sweater

When I am thrifting, my eyes are always drawn to items that have a bohemian element to them. I recently shared a fun tee with crochet sleeves I thrifted this summer and a week or two after that I found this pretty top in an antique booth in a shop downtown. I had already seen it on a previous visit, but as that lady was closing her booth, it was discounted even more and I just had to try it on!

The brand is Gimmicks and as I looked at their website, I saw that they have many items that would appeal to me! While I know the sleeves are impractical for dishwashing and such, I love this sweater and plan to wear it in a variety of ways. One thing that I liked about it is that it has an attached shell lining and that the material is cotton and breathable.

The lace details are so pretty! As I was taking these pictures, I kept telling my son how I was looking forward to fall and being able to actually wear all of the outfits we had been shooting. All of this inspiration and it was 95 degrees! I chose this pair of thrifted denim because I love wearing them in early fall when it is still a little warm and the hem detail has a little touch of boho too.

The wind decided to blow as we took these pictures, but thankfully I do not look like a crazed woman. We kept waiting for little breaks in the breeze to take pictures. My feet have been more finicky this past year, so I cannot wear these sneakers as long as I used to (there isn’t much padding). However, the neutral color and lug sole is perfect with a  lot of outfits, so I will be keeping them around.

I have quite the collection of sweaters, jackets and open cardigans, but I really need to see if I can apply this boho style to my short sleeve summer tops. I have many tanks or halter tops that I wear, but most of my short sleeve tops don’t get as many wears. So this summer, I tried to make an effort to make sure they were part of my outfits to wear.
