Chocolate Brown with the Ageless Style Link Up

Amy from Amy’s Creative Pursuit chose chocolate brown as the theme for our November Ageless Style Link Up as it is a trending color this fall. I’ve been sorely lacking in browns the past few years, so with that in mind I stopped by my new favorite thrift stop (Park Ave Thrift) to see what I could find! The only 2 other chocolate brown pieces in my closet were a bodysuit which I am wearing under this little jacket and a faux leather mini skirt which I will be sharing again on the blog next month.

While keeping my eyes peeled for something brown and looking for a black blazer, I came across this cute little cotton blazer/jacket. I loved the 3/4 sleeves, the fun cinched waist and lapel detail. I knew that I would be able to wear it over dresses which is one of my favorite ways to wear my light jackets.

Another thing that is trending is cuffed jeans. These jeans which I have had for a couple years came cuffed, but I wasn’t wearing them that way much, so I started wearing them folded under and added a bit of fabric glue. Since they are now trending, I decided to pull off the glue dots and cuff them again!

Since I haven’t worn my leopard earrings in quite a while, I pulled them out as they really paired nicely with my top. I really like to wear some bracelets with my shorter sleeves.

Do you follow trends at all and add to your closet accordingly? I don’t mind finding a thrifted item that I like and know I will wear that is trendy, but I do not go out of my way to adopt all of the different things that the fashion industry tries to sell. Thrifting is an easy way to add a trendy item without breaking the bank and while saving something for the landfill. I am curious to see what the other Ageless ladies will share in chocolate brown today!

I love chocolate brown, I think it’s such a warm and inviting colour to wear, but up until recently the only thing I had in my wardrobe in this shade were two identical vest tops! So last month I changed that! I now have lots of gorgeous things that I’m loving wearing right now!
I love your little jacket top, and those earrings are the perfect accessory!

Again, great finds at the thrift store. I began loving browns last year actually and it makes it easier that there are now three of us that can swap and trade clothing in the house. LOL! I don’t always jump on the color trends but usually I end up adding one piece with that color, if I am a fan of the color. Sometimes a trend just isn’t suited for me and then I am okay to skip that thank you very much. I love the leopard earrings! They are the perfect addition to your outfit. Thinking of you and your family at the moment and sending you all my love.

You put together a stylish outfit with that cute brown cropped jacket-you are such a thrifting pro! I wish we had some good secondhand clothing stores in our area-they really are sparse here. Great idea to reinvent your jeans by turning the cuffs back out. Thanks for posting the link up and sharing your style. Hope you have a great weekend!

That jacket was a fabulous find. I have been searching for some fun cuffed jeans and I’m kind of surprised that they’ve been hard to find.

That’s a wonderful find at the thrift store. You look amazing in your jacket, and I love how you cuffed your jeans.
We only have Goodwill and another thrift store that’s a little bit thrift and a little bit boutique. I don’t really follow trends unless it’s something that I really like. Brown isn’t one of them so I won’t really be looking for it.

Take me thrifting!! Just can’t believe the stuff you find. I started looking for my brown and cream outfit in the thrift store here but came up empty-handed. I think you are right, you will get a lot of wear out of that jacket as a wrap over dresses. Haven’t seen the cuffed jeans around here yet but we are waaaaay behind the times/trends. I like them a lot, especially with a bootie or little heel.

Please know I am thinking of you and praying for you and your family during this difficult time. I imagine the holidays will be sad and a little extra stressful. Be sure to take time for you.

Got a guest bedroom just waiting for you and your hubby (it’s just 3 floors up!). We actually went to the beach as planned, my brother in law was going on Wed to visit his in laws. Service is in 2 weeks. Grateful to be down here!
