Maxi, Midi or Mini: Talking Skirt Lengths with the Ageless Style Link Up
Do you have a favorite skirt length? A maxi typically is a full length skirt which reaches your ankles, a midi skirt falls between the knee and the ankle (often at mid-calf) and a mini ends above your knee. Most of my skirts are maxis as I find them easier to move in and I love how they move when I walk. I have just a few midi skirts as I sometimes find it difficult to style (I have a hard time choosing shoes) and I typically wear my shorter skirts for date night if they are higher than above the knee. Today, however, I am sharing one of my favorite thrifted midi skirt which I typically wear more in the winter, but thought it would be fun to style for fall.

I chose my lighter denim shirt to pair with it as I thought it would feel more fallish than my darker one. The same went for my shoes: a lighter brown pair of open toe booties and my accessories (brighter earrings and necklace.

I think this will be my Thanksgiving at the beach outfit. I am not sure that I will chose these shoes, but will have to take some time trying another pair that I like with this skirt length: I told you I am picking with my shoe pairing with midi skirts.

Notice my bracelet? It was a little souvenir from Costa Rica: I am finding that an accessory is a great vacation souvenir. They do not take a lot of space and they bring back good memories any time you wear them.

I reorganized my closet earlier this month, making my long sleeve shirts more accessible and putting away my brighter prints and dresses. I usually transition my closet for the cooler months in 2 times. The first time, I leave some sandals, most of my short sleeves, my darker print maxi dresses and most of my skirts out. I only pull out my lighter sweaters and a few darker skirts to hang. It always makes me feel like I have a lot of new clothes when I pull out the things I had put away for 2 seasons.

So what is your favorite skirt length! I sometimes forget to wear my skirts early fall as I get excited about wearing my denim and other pants. I will try to remedy that the rest of this month!

That really would make a great Thanksgiving at the beach outfit! I just did my second swap out over the weekend and finished pulling out all the turtlenecks and sweaters. But I do like how it feels like I have a whole new wardrobe to play with.

I really need to remember to pack it for Thanksgiving!

Oh my goodness, that skirt is incredible! And I love how you paired it with a chambray shirt to done down the dressiness and make it fall appropriate.

I plan to wear this skirt a lot this fall and winter. Last year, I mostly wore it in winter, so planning a few fall outfits with it.

LOVE this skirt! You’ve styled it perfectly and I love how it flows. Tell me more about Thanksgiving on the beach? That sounds fablous. Sign me up. We had Thanksgiving this past weekend and it rain/snowed, our first of the season. I also transition my closet in ttwo rounds, first time is more fall-ish and then more winter-ish.

We have been going to the beach for the past 5 or 6 years! It was first to get away from all the stress that it brought, having my MIL with us and noise levels from her TV and always being expected to host. It is the perfect weather most years and so fun. And I still host Christmas!

What a gorgeous color this skirt is! You could wear so much with it. I really like the denim shirt, too. I am picky about what shoes go with what so I totally get what you’re saying! Beautiful look for Thanksgiving as well as a date night! And, I agree about accessories as souvenirs!

Thanks, Marsha! I do want to be creative with this skirt: I wore black and burgundy with it last year, but it will be fun to play around with it again this year.

I am excited to wear this outfit for more than blog pictures.

That’s a beautiful skirt! The color is eye catching and I love the length. I am usually a maxi fan but have been getting into midis lately as they don’t need any alterations for my height! I can’t believe we are also thinking about Thanksgiving already. Gosh, time flies, doesn’t it?

I was surprised how much I liked it as midi is not usual a favorite length for me.

I love this topic! My favorite length is midi and a little bit over the knee. I like maxi skirts, but not for me, because I find them uncomfortable.

It is so nice that everyone has a different preference and to hear why.

This is a gorgeous skirt, and I think you will find many ways to style it for fall! My favorite skirt type is the midi skirt, and I especially like the just-below-the-knees length.

It’s funny how we all like different styles, it makes us all unique!
