Double Halftee Fun and Dress

One of the things I love about my friend Jodie and one of the reasons I mention her often on the blog is that she thinks outside the box. I sometimes wear my things in simple combinations and while that is perfectly fine, sometimes it is fun to create an outfit with a little more interest and spice. So today, I am sharing an idea that I copied from an outfit she shared on Instagram last month. We both own a number of Halftees as we have purchased some and have received some from the company, and one day, she layered two Halftees together! What a great idea!

I have two lace Halftees and I will definitely try this combo again with my black lace one and black Halftee, but decided that wearing my two white ones would make a great contrast with this new dress I bought at TJmaxx. I love the texture the lace adds to the outfit and how it pairs perfectly with this type of dress, layering without any bulk.

The dress is a thicker material, kind of suede-like so I probably will not wear it in the summer, but I think it will be perfect the rest of the year. I can layer over it as well, and of course it can be worn on its own. The caramel stitching is what prompted me to pair it with these boots. I originally thought to wear my white cowboy boots.

I wore this on Valentine’s day: we didn’t go out to eat, but had a nice family dinner. My oldest was in town for an interview and played tennis with his dad, my 15 year old had a tennis clinic and I ran an early 8 miles before 8 am. I stopped at TJmaxx to pick up a summer hat I had noticed earlier in the week, but had not picked up: I knew I would use it this summer!

My oldest came up with the idea of being our travel agent for our summer vacation. He is  going to find us a rental and plan our itinerary: his pay is a plane ticket to California for Spring break since a friend invited him for a visit. We will save more than that the cost of the ticket with his research and the time/stress saved is a bonus too. I am curious to see what he will come up with. Colorado is at the top of my list.

I love how this outfit turned out! The dress was definitely a good purchase at $15 and I am looking forward to wearing it this spring! By the way, you can save 20% with code MIREILLE20 at Halftee.

A bientôt!
